Google Pixel phone users now have exciting new wallpaper options! A recent update introduced cinematic wallpapers and emoji wallpapers, adding fun and personalization to your device.

Cinematic wallpapers apply a dynamic, 3D effect to any image, creating a more visually engaging lock screen. Emoji wallpapers let you design custom backgrounds using any combination of up to 14 emojis. Existing wallpaper options, including static images, Google's moving images, and photos, remain available.

Creating Cinematic Wallpapers

1. Long-press an empty area on your home screen.
2. Select Wallpaper & style, then Change wallpaper.
3. Choose My photos and select your image. Images with clear foreground subjects work best.

4. Tap the three-spark icon (top right).
5. Enable Create Cinematic wallpaper. Google's AI will separate the foreground and background.
6. Tap Set wallpaper and choose your screen application (home screen only, or both home and lock screens).

The cinematic effect is visible when locking/unlocking, switching apps, swiping between home screens, and tilting your phone. Note that animated wallpapers may consume more battery.

Creating Emoji Wallpapers

1. Long-press an empty home screen area.
2. Select Wallpaper & style, then Change wallpaper.
3. Choose Emoji workshop.

4. Edit emojis (bottom right) to customize your selection (up to 14). Use Randomize for suggestions.
5. Adjust patterns and colors using the Patterns and Colors tabs. Use Randomize to shuffle options.

6. Tap the checkmark (top right) and select Set wallpaper. Animations are applied when swiping and locking/unlocking. Previously created emoji wallpapers are saved.

Beyond these new features, you can choose from:
