What is the Tournament of Captains?

Mastering naval and boarding battles prepares you for the Tournament of Captains (ToC), a multi-round gauntlet featuring both combat styles. Unlike other modes, ToC challenges are progressively unlocked; each rank must be conquered before the next becomes available.

ToC serves as a gateway to higher-level Quick Clash and Madlantis Mania battles. Completing rank two unlocks rank three challenges in those modes. Your Pirate Reputation rank must also meet or exceed the challenge rank. For example, rank three ToC requires a rank three (or higher) Pirate Reputation. The second rank three ToC battle additionally requires Commodore Mortimer's involvement, progressing the main story.
