Unlike previous installments, Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a more focused narrative centered on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Players embody a completely original character, essentially a self-insert, experiencing the game's events firsthand.

Initially, you assign a name to this character, with "Wanderer" as the default. However, you might want to change this later, perhaps due to story revelations or an initial name choice that's lost ITS Appeal.

Renaming Your Character

The renaming option isn't immediately available. You must progress the main storyline to Chapter 2. After completing the introductory sequences and the first mission (Suppression of You Province), you'll encounter Yuanhua, a companion who joins your party.

With Yuanhua by your side, you can revisit past story scenes at any Inn or Camp. These are presented chronologically.

By replaying the Prologue's "Talking by the Fire" interlude, you'll be given the opportunity to rename your character as if it were the first time. This change is permanent, allowing for multiple renames at any point in the game.
