Palworld offers plenty of Pals to collect. These Pals aren’t found in one location, and as you venture to tougher islands, you’ll discover different types. Some appear only at night, others in dungeons, and some through specific breeding combinations. If your goal is to collect every Pal, it’s not an easy task.
It takes time, and you’ll need to level up and grow stronger to explore the game’s hardest areas. Not every Pal is a cute animal; some are otherworldly beings. This guide explains how to obtain one of these unique Pals: Xenolord.
Xenolord is a Pal with Dragon and Dark elements. This powerful Pal boasts impressive stats, but it cannot be captured while roaming the wild. To obtain Xenolord, you must summon the Xenolord Raid Boss. To summon it, craft a Xenolord Slab, then defeat the Xenolord Raid Boss to obtain a Huge Dark Egg .
The Huge Dark Egg will always hatch into Xenolord. There are no other ways to acquire this Pal.
The first item you need to summon the Xenolord Raid Boss is the Xenolord Slab. To craft it, you will require a total of four Xenolord Slab Fragments. These fragments can be obtained in two ways:
Feybreak Island is one of the most challenging locations in the game, featuring Pal levels above 50 and anti-aircraft defenses that make aerial travel difficult. To obtain Xenolord Slab Fragments, you can complete dungeons located on Feybreak Island.
However, like other dangers on the island, these dungeons are also highly challenging, so it’s essential to be cautious and well-prepared. At the end of these dungeons, you have a chance to find Xenolord Slab Fragments in the chests.
If you find Feybreak Dungeons too difficult or simply don’t want to tackle them, another way to obtain Xenolord Slab Fragments is through expeditions. However, the expedition destinations that yield these fragments are the last two, requiring the highest firepower.
This means you’ll need to defeat the Moonflower Tower Boss on Sakurajima Island and the boss at Feybreak Tower. The following expeditions have a chance to reward you with Xenolord Slab Fragments:
|
Recommended Firepower | Required Element | |||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Spirit Blossom Cave of Sakurajima | 375,000 | Water | |||||||||
Dark Cave of Feybreak | 476,000 | Dark |
The more you exceed the recommended firepower for these expeditions, the shorter their duration will be, allowing you to run expeditions more frequently.
Additionally, if you own the Pal Labor Research Facility, there are research subjects that increase the loot you gain from expeditions. It’s highly beneficial to research these. Below is a list of research subjects that can help:
Research Subject |
Research Name |
Effect |
---|---|---|
Lumbering | Time-Saving Expedition Lv1 | Decreases expedition time by 5%. |
Lumbering | Mastery of Expeditions Lv1 | Increases the expedition reward by 5%. |
Lumbering | Time-Saving Expedition Lv2 | Decreases expedition time by 10%. |
Lumbering | Mastery of Expeditions Lv2 | Increases the expedition reward by 10%. |
Lumbering | Time-Saving Expedition Lv3 | Decreases expedition time by 5%. |

Once you’ve gathered four Xenolord Slab Fragments, you can use them to craft a Xenolord Slab at any workbench. However, possessing the Xenolord Slab alone isn’t enough. To summon Xenolord, you’ll need to construct a Summoning Altar.
Since Xenolord is an incredibly powerful Raid Boss, it’s highly recommended to build the Summoning Altar at a new and empty base to avoid potential destruction to your primary base. If you’ve battled any Raid Boss before, you should have already unlocked the blueprint for the Summoning Altar technology.
This technology becomes available at level 32, and the required materials for crafting it are listed in the table below:
|
Amount | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Stone | 100 | ||||||
Paldium Fragment | 20 |
After crafting the Summoning Altar at your base, interact with it to summon Xenolord. However, entering this battle unprepared will make defeating Xenolord nearly impossible.
Once you summon Xenolord, prepare yourself for a challenging Raid Boss battle. Proper preparation is crucial, and being at least level 60 will work to your advantage. Equip the best armor available, such as the Hexolite Armor, and use the Advanced Shield for optimal defense.
When choosing a weapon, opt for high-damage options like the Rocket Launcher or the Plasma Cannon, both of which are highly effective. Additionally, using arrows that inflict burn or poison damage can help deplete Xenolord’s high HP more quickly. For rapid fire, the Laser Gatling Gun is another strong choice.
Since Xenolord possesses both Dark and Dragon elements, it’s essential to align your base defense with the appropriate elemental counters. During the battle, Xenolord will summon Xenogard (Dragon element) and Xenovader (Dark element). Equip your base with Dragon and Ice-type Pals to gain an advantage.
Avoid using Neutral or Dark element Pals, as they will suffer from elemental disadvantages.
A standout choice for this battle is Chillet , which has both Ice and Dragon elements, making it exceptionally effective against Xenovader and Xenogard. Remember, many of your base Pals may fall in battle, so you'll need a large number of strong backups. Bastigor and Frostallion are excellent options.
Additionally, researching Pal base attack and defense upgrades for your Pals at the Pal Labor Research Facility will give you an edge. Accessories like the Attack Pendant or Life Pendant can also provide valuable stat boosts, and carrying Recovery Meds is crucial for healing.
One of the best Pals for this battle is Frostallion , whose partner ability, Ice Steed, turns all your damage into Ice-type while riding it. This takes full advantage of Xenolord’s elemental weaknesses.
Since Frostallion will be your active Pal, other Pals won’t join the fight, so maximizing their passive abilities is key. Bringing four Gobfin is a smart choice, as their partner ability, Angry Shark, boosts your attack power while they’re not in combat.
Keep in mind that you cannot capture Xenolord. It has a staggering 1,316,000 HP, meaning a long and intense fight is ahead. Additionally, you only have ten minutes to defeat it, so speed is essential.
If you ignore the Xenovader and Xenogard summons, their numbers can overwhelm your Pals, potentially turning the battle against you. Be sure to periodically focus on these summons to maintain control of the fight.
Close-range combat against Xenolord is ill-advised; fight from a distance, allowing it to target the Palbox instead. The Palbox is durable enough to withstand Xenolord’s damage. While riding Frostallion, stay at range and attack from afar.
Avoid running to the Palbox to replace fallen Pals unless the battle is nearly over. Engaging too closely with Xenolord can be fatal. Instead, prioritize dealing consistent damage from a safe distance to secure victory.
After defeating Xenolord, you will receive the following rewards:
Item |
Amount |
---|---|
Ancient Civilization Core |

Ancient Civilization Parts |
10 |
Huge Dark Egg |

Power Fruit |

Ruby |

Among the loot, you’ll find a Huge Dark Egg. Once hatched in an Egg Incubator, this egg will give you Xenolord.
Xenolord’s partner skill is Meteor Wings, allowing you to ride it. As a flying Pal with excellent speed, Xenolord significantly enhances your travel efficiency. To use this partner skill, you must craft the Xenolord Saddle, and the materials required for it are listed in the table below:
|
Amount | ||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Leather | 30 | ||||||||||
Dark Fragment | 50 | ||||||||||
Meteorite Fragment | 30 | ||||||||||
Paldium Fragment | 200 |
In terms of work suitability, Xenolord is quite weak and not ideal for base tasks. With only level one Gathering, it’s better to rely on Xenolord for its combat power and as a fast mount rather than assigning it to base-related activities.
