However, Season 1 of the game added yet another Duelist into the already massive roster, and this time it was the genius scientist from Fantastic Four, Mister Fantastic, also known as Reed Richards. If you are interested in learning to play him, we've got a guide to make the process smoother.

Mister Fantastic Overview

Marvel Rivals: Mister Fantastic Hero Guide

Mister Fantastic is a medium-difficulty Duelist who can stretch his body like elastic, gain bonus health, and pull enemies close to him. He can also slam down on his opponents and deal massive damage, thereby creating chaos amidst the enemy ranks.

While he is supposed to function as a Duelist on paper, Mister Fantastic can perform as a pseudo-tank. In other words, if he's in the team, you can drop a Vanguard and instead let Mister Fantastic soak some damage from the enemy team, since he's quite hard to kill.

Once you combine Invisible Woman with Mister Fantastic and activate their team-up ability, he becomes even more tanky, thereby acting as a frontline for the team. This is what makes him unique, and he opens up several opportunities when it comes to team building.

Here's a detailed rundown of his kit:

Normal Attack

Stretch Punch

Mister Fantastic stretches his hands to punch enemies.

Abilities

Brainiac Bounce

Mister Fantastic and leap in the air and slam on the ground, thereby slowing down enemies and dealing damage. If he hits a target, he can leap again.

Reflexive Rubber

Mister Fantastic can stretch his body and absorb incoming damage. He can also reflect this damage back at the opponent.

Flexible Elongation

Mister Fantastic stretches his body and dashes onto a selected target. He gains a shield while doing this and also deals damage to enemies. His allies gain a shield during this interaction.

Distended Grip

Mister Fantastic and stretch his body, grab an enemy and pull them Close to him. He can also select two enemies, entangle his hands around them and then smash them while dealing damage. Smashed enemies are airborne.

Elastic Strength

Whenever Mister Fantastic uses an ability, he generates Elasticity, which further enhances his attack power. Once full Elasticity is achieved, he receives a powerful shield and gains a massive boost to his attack power.

Team-Up Abilities

Wedded Harmony

Mister Fantastic is empowered by Invisible Woman where they both gain bonus health and the former receives damage reduction.

The Elasticity meter can be found in the middle of the screen. Once it reaches 100, you activate Elastic Strength. While Elastic Strength or Reflexive Rubber is active, you can't use any other abilities.

However, you can leave the Elastic Strength mode anytime before it expires. The Elastic Meter also decays slowly when you stop using your abilities, so if you want to proc it, you'll have to keep spamming your attacks.

Tips And Tricks To Play Mister Fantastic

Marvel Rivals: Mister Fantastic Hero Guide

Mister Fantastic isn't a traditional Duelist, which means playing him is a bit different when compared to the other heroes in his class. The most important part of Mister Fantastic's kit is Elastic Strength. As you use abilities, you build up the Elastic meter until it reaches 100 and your passive procs.

The best way to use it is when your team is engaging with enemies. It is important not to proc it randomly as otherwise you'll waste it and drain your meter. Simply use your abilities occasionally and keep the meter around 85 to 90. The moment your team engages, get it to 100 and jump in front of the enemy.

As Mister Fantastic, position yourself in the middle of the team, where you can reach both the frontline and the backline very quickly. Try not to rush in too much, as once your bonus HP is gone, you;ll be vulnerable and if you're too far away from the frontline, the other Vanguard in your team will get isolated and killed.

As soon as Elastic Strength expires, use your Reflexive Rubber ability to once again become tanky with bonus health. This will mean you can stay in the frontline for a little longer and thereby soak in a few more hits for your enemy. However, you can't use any other abilities while you are in your tanky state, but you can punch enemies with your fists.

Once your Reflexive Rubber is in cooldown and Elastic Strength is not active, you can help the team by creating setups to secure kills. For instance, you can activate Distended Grip if you see any enemy in low health and pull them close to your team to finish them off. Additionally, you can also smash two enemies with this ability and thereby put them in an airborne state with low HP.

This will make the enemy players uncomfortable, and they'll be afraid of approaching your team. Mister Fantastic is also very good at protecting his healers, as if a Spider-Man or Psylocke dives in the backline, you can use your Flexible Elongation ability to dash onto those enemies and start disrupting their attacks.

While you are pulling enemies or smashing them with each other, always try to select an enemy healer or DPS. Pulling in tanks in between your team won't work much as you won't be able to take them down quickly. However, shutting down a DPS or healer is a lot easier, and you'll open up advantages for your team.

Since you are a hybrid between a Duelist and a Vanguard, you can tank through any attacks that the backline divers try to throw at you and make sure your healers don't die. A little help from the healers and your backline will never be affected. In fact, you can bait out their Ultimates with your tanky abilities, which will put your team at an advantage.

Finally, Mister Fantastic's Normal Attacks allow him to play from range, which means you can place yourself in favorable positions instead of pushing into the enemy. Your Normal Attacks are slow, but they hit hard, and you can engage the enemy while being close to your team.

Tips To Use Mister Fantastic Ultimate

Marvel Rivals: Mister Fantastic Hero Guide

Mister Fantastic's Ultimate is an engaging tool that allows you to keep jumping onto enemies and dealing damage to them. Using it is very simple, as after activating, you will automatically jump in the air and all you need to do is press the attack button to slam onto the ground.

The best time to use it is when multiple enemies are grouped up before you. This will allow you to get multiple jumps and also ensure that you don't miss a hit. Remember that the more you hit enemies, the more jumps you get, so it's better to use it when enemies are grouped up rather than spread out.

If you miss all your slams, you get around two to three jumps at most. However, if you hit enemies with your slams, you get to do it around five to six times, which makes getting hits extremely important.

Also, remember that even though the slam has a decent range, positioning it properly is a bit difficult while in the air, so you can miss and instead slam in a different direction from where you intended originally. This can be fixed by practicing for a while in the Practice Range.
