This is a submission for Frontend Challenge - December Edition, CSS Art: December.
Inspiration
For this challenge, I wanted to celebrate December through the lens of my home city, Ahmedabad. December in Ahmedabad is a time of cool, pleasant weather and festive events. It’s a month filled with outdoor activities, cultural festivals, and the excitement leading up to the Kite Festival in January. I focused on capturing the essence of Ahmedabad’s winter vibes and its vibrant celebrations through CSS art, incorporating elements like snowflakes and the city’s festive atmosphere.

Journey
Creating this piece was a fun journey that helped me explore CSS art in a more personal way. I wanted to reflect Ahmedabad’s unique winter charm—its crisp air and festive spirit. The challenge allowed me to dive deeper into CSS animations, especially for creating the snowflakes that fall as you scroll, and adding a dynamic background color that changes with scrolling, mimicking the cooling winter evening as the day goes on.
I’m particularly proud of how I captured the vibe of Ahmedabad’s winter through a simple yet effective design. The challenge also pushed me to get creative with CSS and JavaScript to implement smooth, scroll-triggered animations and background color transitions.
Next, I’m excited to explore more interactive design elements and experiment with libraries like GSAP to enhance animations and create more engaging web experiences.
Thanks for taking a look at my work!
