How Can I Detect the Start and End of CSS3 Transitions?

Detecting CSS3 Transition Events

Transitions in CSS3 add dynamic effects to web elements, enhancing their responsiveness. However, it's often necessary to track the start and end of these transitions for synchronization with other elements or actions.

Answer

W3C CSS Transitions Draft

The W3C CSS Transitions Draft specifies that a completion event is fired for each property that undergoes a transition. This event allows developers to detect when a transition completes and perform synchronized actions.

Webkit

In Webkit, the event listener function can be set for the webkitTransitionEnd event. This event is fired at the end of a transition.

box.addEventListener('webkitTransitionEnd', function( event ) { alert( "Finished transition!" ); }, false );

Mozilla, Opera, and Internet Explorer

These browsers support the same transitionend event, but it may be prefixed with 'o' for Opera and 'webkit' for Internet Explorer. The event occurs at the completion of the transition.

For more information on CSS transition events and their compatibility across browsers, refer to the Stack Overflow discussion on normalizing CSS3 Transition functions.

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
