In Atlyss, you're a lost soul that has just been pulled from purgatory, and now, you must fight against the evil in the lands to restore this mystical world to its former glory. As the game progresses, you will become stronger and fight against more challenging foes in an attempt to come out victorious.
After you reach level 10, you can pick a specific class, which comes with its own unique skills and passives. If you have picked the Bandit class, you will gain additional movement benefits, as well as the ability to debuff your enemies, which will allow you to defeat them quickly.
Bandit Class Overview
The Bandit Class has several useful skills that revolve around movement and reducing the armor of your opponents. There are certain skills that deal damage in an AOE and can be extremely effective in fighting against multiple enemies.
This class can be comparatively more complicated than the Mystic Class and the Fighter Class because you can't utilize a shield, and it's not all about fighting against enemies head-on. However, if you manage to master the skills, you'll be an overwhelming force against any number of enemies.
How To Get The Bandit Class
At level 10, you can talk to Sally and take the Devious Pact quest from her. You can find Sally inside her shop, just outside of Angela's library. Accepting the Devious Pact quest will automatically add the Tome of the Bandit to your inventory.
Going to your inventory's Consumables section and using the Tome of the Bandit will assign you the Bandit Class. All your skill points will be reset, and you'll be able to pick up new skills from the Bandit Skillbook.
Additionally, Sally also features quests for Katar and Bow Mastery. Accepting these quests will add the Mastery Scroll of the weapon in question to your inventory. You will then have to use the scroll from your inventory, and then assign skill points to the newly received mastery skills to become more proficient with the weapons.
Bandit Class Skills
The Bandit Class specializes in the mastery of Katars and Bows, and their use is also an integral part of the Bandit Class Skills. Some class skills require a melee weapon, while others require a ranged one. You can pick these skills depending on your playstyle by going all-in on a melee build, a ranged one, or a mix of both.
Bandit Class Skills |
||
---|---|---|
Name |
Description |
Usage |
Venom Shot |
You shoot an arrow at an enemy. If the attack hits, the target will take some damage over time, and their armor will be reduced for a short duration. | This is your main armor reduction skill. The initial damage and the damage over time aren't worth as much as the damage reduction this skill offers. |
Killer Jab |
Killer Jab uses a melee weapon, allowing you to deal a burst of damage against an enemy, reducing their armor by 10 and movement speed by 20 percent. | While this skill provides a fixed armor and movement speed reduction, it is still incredibly useful against enemies with high armor. |
Volley |
Volley is a skill that requires you to aim a small circle on the ground with a ranged weapon, dealing continuous damage for a short duration. | This skill requires you to aim at the ground for a short duration after charging it up. The damage over time is significant and can be useful against a horde of enemies. |
Payday |
This skill uses a melee weapon and stuns the target for a tiny duration while also dealing damage to them. | The currency drops don't matter much, but the initial damage and the stun make it a good skill to invest in for melee builds. |
Bomb Trap |
Bomb Trap is a short cooldown skill that allows you to set up a bomb at your current location, which explodes shortly after, dealing considerable area-wide damage and knocking enemies away. | This skill is exponential for the Bandit Class as it deals a ton of damage in an area, making it useful for any situation. The skill can be cast quickly and has a short cooldown. |
Mist Veil |
This skill turns you invisible, while also restoring your health. All enemies will stop in their tracks until you come out of invisibility. | This is also an exceptionally useful skill and is recommended for any build. It allows you to retreat safely and heal yourself when your Recovery Skill is on cooldown. |
Devious Signet |
This is a support skill that enhances evasion and the critical strike rate of your allies in a small radius around you. The skill lasts for 35 seconds and has a 40-second cooldown, so you can repeatedly cast this skill with a five-second downtime. | This skill can be game-changing if you're playing multiplayer. But, even in single-player, the increased evasion and critical strike rate can be useful, especially for melee builds. |
Agile Technique |
This is the Bandit Class' passive skill, that enhances your movement options. | Ranking up this skill once gives you the triple jump ability, which might be useful for exploration. However, ranking this skill up further isn't recommended as all the other additional abilities aren't practical, and it is better to spend those skill points on some other skills. |
Bandit Class Gameplay Strategy
As a Bandit, you will need to work on your parry timings if you plan to face an enemy up close because of the lack of shields. Regardless, Mist Veil and Devious Signet provide ample survivability, as well as the Bomb Trap skill, which allows you to deal damage to your opponents as you run away from them.
You should always be ready to retreat whenever you feel like you're in danger. If you're using a melee build, you'll be mostly utilizing the Killer Jab, Bomb Trap, and Payday ability to deal damage, while Mist Veil will allow you to get away safely. You can also invest in a good unique initial skill, such as Sturdy, to comfortably deal damage without having to worry about getting hit.
For ranged builds, Bomb Traps synergizes really well with this strategy where you drop a bomb while trying to create some space between you and the enemy. Venom Shot also allows you to deal a chunk of damage quickly against single enemies, making every boss fight in the game slightly easier.
