In UFL, skins work a little differently to how they do in most games. While they do change the look of a player's item in-game, their main use is to boost the stats of a player you apply them to. You get skins from packs and apply them to players who match the position of the skin.
Rarer ones boost specific stats more than others, and there are even unique skins for certain players in the game. To keep your squad as strong as possible, you'll want to keep adding and removing skins to apply the biggest boost possible. However, how to do that isn't immediately obvious.
Once you've opened packs, whether from rewards for playing or from the store, you'll have plenty of skins to apply to players in your squad. However, they're not applied from the squad screen itself.
Instead, head to the main menu and select the Skins option. You can then choose the Library option to look at all of the skins you have available.
Now, find the skin you want to apply to the player you have in mind. Press X/A on the skin and the players in your club who fit the required position will pop up. Press X/A again to apply the skin. You could also select a skin and then choose which player to apply it to, instead of coming into the process with a player in mind.
Each skin boosts certain stats, so make sure you're applying one that boosts stats that are relevant to the player you adding it to.
However, sometimes skins need to be replaced by better options you've been able to obtain over time. You'll want to remove a skin before replacing it with a new one.
To do so, head to the skins library and find the player from which you want to remove the skin. Then, press X/A on that player to remove the skin and add it back into your library. Once again, you cannot do this from the squad screen, only the skin-specific part of UFL.
Removing a skin from a player adds the skin back into your library to use on another player.
