Peppubuild is a no-code platform that allows you to create your website without writing any code. Creating a website can be daunting, especially if you're new to coding or website design. Peppubuild simplifies this journey, providing a user-friendly platform that allows you to develop websites while mastering foundational web development concepts. Think of it as a blend of creativity and technology, where education meets innovation.
Peppubuild offers a low-barrier entry into web development. Its features include:
To start a project, you first need to get authenticated. Follow the link above if you’re not authenticated yet. Next, click on the New Project button as seen below.
Click on Empty Project and follow the instructions to name your project. Next, you’ll be redirected to the project’s workspace.
First, we will explore Peppubuild's interface. This is what your editor should look like. I have numbered the icons of the toolbar from the left to the right.
Icon 1: This is the block icon. Blocks are pre-built components that you can drag into the editor to form parts of your website. For instance, there are text and link blocks that you can drag into the editor. When you click on the button, the different blocks available open in the right side panel.
Icon 2: This icon is already active, it is the Style Manager. Since the editor is empty, you only have a text instructing you to select an element first. From the style manager, you can add color, make texts larger, and perform other actions.
Icon 3: The Ruler icon is useful for Experts who don’t care about web responsiveness since they can drag blocks into any position in the editor. This affects the elements and page alignment. Therefore, you should only use this if you’re a technical developer and can re-align the page.
Icon 4: The Delete icon allows you to delete everything on the page. If you’d only like to delete individual components on the page, click on it and use the delete button that pops around the component.
Icon 5: This is the Undo icon, while you can undo changes with CTRL Z you can also use the Undo button. Since we don’t have a redo button, you can use CTRL Y.
Icon 6: This is the Code Block icon, which allows you to view the code from your page in HTML and CSS format. As you navigate to a new page, the code for each page changes to correspond to the page’s content.
Icon 7: This is the Fullscreen icon, which allows you to expand the editor into the full page.
Icon 8: The Preview icon allows you to view the content of the editor, without the side panels.
Icon 9: This is the View component icon. When active, it shows the guide dotted line around each component.
Icon 10: The Pages icon opens in the right sidebar. It contains various buttons for managing pages and publishing the project. From Add pages, to Add web title, to Publish project.
Each project has an index page, which is the home page. Please do not delete or edit the name of this page. You can add new pages with the Add Page button.
Icon 11: The Device icon is useful for checking your project across different devices, from desktop to mobile devices.
Icon 12: The Layers icon shows a tree of all components in the editor and the elements they contain.
Icon 13: The Logo navigates to the dashboard, instead of using the back button in the browser.
Icon 14: The Properties tab shows the properties of each element. When you drag a block into the editor, you can check and set properties in the properties tab. For instance, links have a Href property, which accepts and sets the URL of the link.
Icon 15: The Add Data button is for web applications. This allows you to add external data.
Peppubuild has a lot of useful blocks for building your page, arranged into different categories.
Navigation Bar: This contains the top and bottom navigation and a sidebar.
Pages: This contains blocks for a ready-made page template. You should start with this block if you need help setting up your website.
Orientation: Blocks that change the orientation and layout of the page, like the flex center for arranging contents in the center of the page.
Section: Contains blocks like the hero section that takes up a whole section of the page.
Elements: The elements that make up the website are found in the elements section.
