With this year's EA Sports FC game being underwhelming for a lot of series fans, a football game contender like UFL is more than welcome. As essentially a free to play version of Ultimate Team, without a lot of the bells and whistles, it's a fresh take on the genre of sports game.

Before you jump into competitive matches in UFL's ranked mode, you may want to change your formation and have a play around with which is best. Doing so is a little tricky though, with the ability to do so somewhat hidden away.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script>
When you first start in UFL, you get to choose the formation of your basic team. However, you only get the chance to pick between five basic formations, including the standard 4-4-2. You'd be forgiven for thinking they're the only formations in the game.
However, once you make it to the main menu of the game and can see your team in all of its glory, you can change the formation of one of many. If you're familiar with the choices in EA Sports FC 25, most of the options are here too. There are the 4-4-3 iterations that allow you to have a CAM instead of a CM, and various five at the back formations.

. There is no formation changing specific button in UFL.Then, you can cycle through the options and select the one that either best suits your style of play
or best suits the players in your team. You cannot play with players out of position in UFL. If you're using a CAM player
, you cannot use them at CM, even if the position is only slightly different.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script>While you're best to play around with various options, there are a few set-ups that work with the flow of matches in UFL.
Most of that comes down to how there's a lot of space on the wings in UFL. You'll want wingers to attack those spaces or five at the back formations to counter that and fill the space as much as you can.

Therefore, using the likes of 4-3-3 (Attack) or any of the similar variations is a good place to start
. You can then choose the make-up of your midfield once you've played a few games and seen how the attacking variant fits with how you play. You may find it leaves you a little exposed in the centre of the pitch.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script>The above is the detailed content of UFL: How To Change Formation.
