Hudson is one of the most powerful Hunters in Supervive - he is tanky, deals a lot of damage, and can be a nightmare to take down. He can be countered by aggressive melee players - he turns extremely slowly when his mini-gun is at full speed - but he is one of the best at holding down a location. Hudson is very friendly for new players as he doesn't have many complicated mechanics.

Hudson Build Basics

Here's an overview of the basic build loadout for Hudson.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script>
What Gear To Take
There are a few good situational items on Hudson, but these should be your standard picks:
- Bladed Helmet into Perseverance.
- Mana Helmet into Scholar.
The upgraded Bladed Helmet, Perseverance, grants you extra AP, max health, and movespeed, while also having an excellent passive for Hudson. This helm will grant you permanent health three stacks at a time, every time you hit someone with your mini-gun after three seconds in combat. Get this early enough and fight plenty of people and Hudson not only does a lot of damage but gains a lot of max HP.
✕ Remove Ads EightWe've opted for Scholar in our standard build because the upgraded helm, Scholar, provides maximum HP and mana over time up to <script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script> stacks. If you manage to get this early you can also get a nice buff to HP in the mid-game.
Alternatively, you could try the Tech Helmet upgraded into the Guardian's Respite. The upgraded helm provides a 15% shield of Max HP that regenerates outside of combat. Stack with the Max HP gain from Peseverance and you can create a pretty tanky Hudson.
Skill Overview
Hudson has quite an interesting passive ability: when Hudson knocks an enemy Hunter, he can gain 25% of his health and armor. He will also passively regenerate armor when out of combat at a rate of 1% per second. Lastly, Hudson takes an extra 25% damage when attacked from behind.
- Basic Attack - Mini Gun (LMB) - Hudson's mini-gun is a great standard basic attack, possibly the best in the game after Shrike's sniper. This is mostly because of Hudson's LMB ability.
- Spin Barrels (RMB) - Hudson can charge his mini-gun by holding down RMB to spin the barrels. At max spin (you'll notice the screen changes color) his mini-gun replenishes your health on hit at a rate of 0.3% Max HP per shot. The mini-gun also gets piercing, which means he can shred multiple enemies at once.
- Hover Jets (SHIFT Dash) - Although Hudson is slow with his mini-gun, his Hover Jets actually provide great mobility. You can travel quite a distance to engage with/escape from an enemy. You can also Hold the ability to hover in place for a moment. Hudson can also barrel through enemies and deal a flat 100-300 damage depending on how fast you're moving when you hit them.
- Barbed Wire (Q) - Hudson throws a grenade that creates a small area of Barbed Wire. This is an excellent control tool that can be used to block off areas or thrown into the middle of a team fight to Root and damage enemies.
- Salvage Hook - (R Ultimate) - Hudson fires his Salvage Hook. If it hits an enemy player, they are slowed and have Anti-heal applied to them. When an enemy that you've hooked falls below 30% health, you reel them in and instantly kill them. You and your allies receive a tick of Hudson's passive to quickly regen HP and Armor.
Skill Priority
On Hudson, you want to take Spin Barrels first for early fights, then your dash, and then your Barbed Wire.
You want to max out your Spin Barrels - at level three, max level, the ability provides a massive 10% damage boost which really helps carry you into the endgame. After spin barrels, you want to max out your Barbed Wire.
At max upgrade, the Barbed Wire gets a significant six second cooldown reduction - ideal for those endgame rings where control is essential.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script>Hudson Playstyle Tips

Hudson is a slow but powerful Hunter in Supervive. Despite being pretty immobile once his mini-gun is spinning up, his dash is fairly long and can be used to engage, escape, or reposition.
✕ Remove AdsFor the most part, Hudsons sticks near the backline
and waits to engage enemies that are on low health. The range of his mini-gun is deceptively long, and he can hold down positions with his traps and a constant barrage of fire.To get the most out of Hudson, you need to pick the moments that you dive in carefully. Get stranded and you're basically helpless. Coming up against dive compositions, teams that like to get on top of you, can be a problem for Hudson. He takes extra damage if he's shot or hit from behind.
As is usual with these types of games, it's all about limit-testing.
Hudson has some early power spikes with his first item upgrades or level-ups. Over time, you'll begin to learn these breakpoints, which will help you get to grips with the character. With decent gear, Hudson can win a one versus one with ease, as long as you manage to keep them from getting behind you. His health regen and omnivamp is incredibly strong in tight situations. ✕ Remove Ads
Best Hudson Team Compositions Hudson excels in almost any team comp - he's currently one of the highest win-rate Hunters for a reason. Ideally, you do want some protection on the backline - something like an Elluna to keep you extra healthy while engaged. Hunters that can prevent diving - other controllers, like
Celeste<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script> - can also help Hudson stay out of trouble.<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('CCR-REPEAT2'); }); </script>Hudson also does best when he is paired with Hunters that can engage with any enemy and get them low on health before he storms in to clean up. Bishop, Felix, and Oath are all excellent Hunters for this very job.
An ideal team might look like: Hudson, Elluna, Celeste, and Oath. Oath can be swapped out for more damage if the heals from Elluna feel like they're doing enough.
