Have you ventured over to that enormous old estate in Ravenwood, the new world in The Sims 4: Life & Death? There's a creepy old well out back amid the trees, the Well of Longing and Regret, if your Sim is feeling brave enough to go check it out.
Just don't mind Edith, the ghost child whose soul lingers near the well. She's horrifying at first, but your Sim will need to befriend her if you're pursuing the Alice's Sorrow quest, since she's the final child you'll need to find. Befriending Edith can be pretty scary, but it's not impossible!
If you've begun the Alice's Sorrow quest line over at the Guardian Tree by asking the mourning mother about her loss, then you've already been on the hunt to help Alice find out what happened to the children left behind when she died. Deimos was in a Crypt, Freddy's at the playground, and Ann's laid to rest in Whistling Glen, but where is the final child, Edith?
If you haven't been over to the Well of Longing and Regret yet, then get ready to get scared, because you'll find it just off the lot of the Old Ravenwood Estate in the Crow's Crossing neighborhood of Ravenwood, the world added in the Life & Death expansion. You can see the well on the map before you head over, to help orient yourself.
When you go over to the well, though, you'll notice a ghost of a child Sim that lingers near the place where she drowned. This is Edith, the final of the four children you need to find for Alice, but completing her portion of the quest is no easy feat - Edith terrifies your Sim, and they'll often run from her. You've even got the amusing option when interacting with Edith to Nope! on out of that whole situation.
For the curious, you can find the grave of Edith Basu toward the bog near the Well of Longing and Regret - sometimes, she'll even go hang out near it instead of the Well. Reading her epitaph describes her as a Playful child when the moon isn't full, a "true moon child."
But if you want to finish Alice's Sorrow, you'll need to be brave and continue trying to communicate with Edith until she seems receptive to your attempts. You do need to be delicate with her, however, because Edith can and will swing back toward being unwilling to communicate if you fail too many times in a row.
To befriend Edith, you'll need to treat her like any other Sim, being kind to her in conversations and gaining her trust. Your ultimate goal here is the Mark of Edith, which you can ask Edith for once you've befriended her. Not only does this give you better luck at the Well, but you'll also be able to complete the Alice's Sorrow quest at the Guardian Tree.
Whether or not you've dealt with Edit, you can visit the Well anytime to make a wish. This will always cost one Simoleon, and you can ask the Well of Longing and Regret for a number of different things, which we've detailed below.
Just beware that luck can go either way on the wishes you make at the Well of Longing and Regret. As Edith explains when you ask her about the Well, it'll either provide "a dream or a nightmare," which means you'll either get exactly what you wish for, which is denoted with a blue light from the Well, or the exact opposite of what you asked for, indicated by a red light from within. Wish at your own risk!
You'll need to wait a bit between wishes, which encourages you to visit often if you're trying to Press Your Luck. If the moodlet from your previous wish
