Can PDO Parameterized Queries Reuse Named Placeholders?

PDO Parameterized Queries: Reusing Named Placeholders

When dealing with PDO parameterized queries, one may encounter a need to utilize the same value for multiple named placeholders in a single statement. For instance:

SELECT :Param FROM Table WHERE Column = :Param

Intuitively, one might attempt to bind the value to a named placeholder and expect it to be used for all occurrences. However, this approach is not possible in PDO.

The PDO::prepare documentation explicitly states:

"...you cannot use a named parameter marker of the same name twice in a prepared statement"

Therefore, it is not feasible to reuse named placeholders in this manner.
