Slitterhead: Jar Of Poison Walkthrough

Slitterhead has a tremendous amount of charm and uniqueness to it that lessens some of its jankiness and shortcomings, allowing you to enjoy its exhilarating combat and eerie story beats, making for one of this year's best offerings in terms of horror releases.

If you're a fan of Keiichiro Toyama's previous works, you will likely be on board for what's offered here, especially once you get deeper into its bizarre world and begin uncovering its biggest mysteries, making Jar of Poison one of its best missions overall.

Starting Jar Of Poison In Slitterhead

Jar of Poison only becomes available after acquiring Tri, which will help push the narrative forward. As such, you will be able to bring along an additional Rarity as your Companion, which we strongly recommend being either Edo or Julee.

Do you want to deal tons of damage? Then Edo should be your focus. Otherwise, we recommend Julee solely for her Revive All Skill, as it will be extremely useful toward the end of the mission. Regardless, both options will work well!

Search The Lower Floor

When the mission begins, you will be Tri, standing alone in the facility's kitchen, looking directly at the door that leads into the forbidden area. Navigate toward the door and open it to proceed into the next area.

Once here, sneak down the stairs and follow the hallway until you reach a guard facing away from you. Quickly make your way into the lit room to the right. Use Possession to squeeze through the open window from here, then possess the guard to the left.

Turn around as the guard, walk past the window you squeezed through, and then take a left, following this pathway to a door. Attempt to open the door to see that it's locked, forcing you to find an alternate way into the room.

Use The Freight Elevator

As you make your way back past the window, you will notice a Freight Elevator in the room you're attempting to get into that connects to the room above you. So, from here, follow the hallway to the right and head up the stairs to see two guards standing at the top.

Wait for the guards to walk away, then head down the left-hand corridor. Follow this pathway until you reach the Slitterhead guard, then use Possession to move to the room beyond them and possess the guard in the room with all the large pots.

Make your way toward the Freight Elevator from this room, activate it, and take it down into the room beneath you to continue the mission.

Search Suspicious Room

After taking the Freight Elevator down, you will be in a suspicious room, allowing you to investigate what's going on. As soon as you're in the room, a bin will be in front of you. Interact with it, then head toward the right to find some notes on a desk. Interact with them and continue moving forward.

There will be three more bins you can interact with as you make your way through the narrow pathways of cooling racks. Take your time and interact with all of them, as it will provide slightly more context of what's going on.

Interacting with the last bin will trigger a cutscene, having you run into Tommy, one of the Followers in the facility, leading to a series of unfortunate and disturbing events.

Defeat Tommy

Following the cutscene, you will be in an encounter with Tommy, who has turned into a Slitterhead. Tri won't be there at first, so you must survive as the guard long enough until she does show up. We strongly urge you to Parry his incoming attacks until then.

Switch to Tri the moment she appears, activate Burning Edge, and unleash her power and swift attacks on him until you get him down to roughly half-health, causing him to transform even further.

Defeat Warty Frogfish Slitterhead

Upon transforming into the Warty Frogfish Slitterhead, your selected Companion will appear. If you selected Edo, switch to him instantly, activate Burning Edge, and then start spamming Angel Step for massive damage.

This should stun Tommy, allowing you to go even further on the offensive and deal more and more damage. After he recovers, you can switch to Tri, activate Bloody Knuckles, and finish the job, or you can stick with Edo, reactivate Burning Edge, and finish them off that way.

You've faced a Warty Frogfish Slitterhead in a previous mission, and this encounter is no different, so it won't be anything new or particularly all that challenging!

Investigate The Room

With Tommy defeated, look at the desk to your right to find more notes for you to read, then head over to the Clover Pin and Glasses that are lying on the ground and interact with them to activate a brief cutscene.

Yin Yue will confront you shortly after before making a break toward a hidden exit, forcing you to follow him and leading you to many dangers on your way.

Investigate The Forbidden Area's Depths

Make your way through the hidden exit and follow the halls until you reach a group of tiny Slitterheads. Quickly dispatch them and push slightly forward until you're in a room with four lesser Slitterheads and several tiny ones.

Use Burning Edge and Bloody Knuckles here to make quick work of them, but be wary of the little Slitterheads with pustules all over their bodies, as they can poison you when attacking, having you lose health gradually for a brief period.

Continue pushing forward after defeating the lesser Slitterheads to encounter even more little ones, quickly take care of them, and move forward until you reach a cave. There will be a lone man waiting at the end of it, approach them to trigger another brief cutscene.

Defeat The Slitterhead

He will transform into a Slitterhead, forcing you to deal with him before moving forward. Fortunately, he's not a special Slitterhead, so you should be able to make quick work of him by activating Burning Edge and Bloody Knuckles.

Your Companion Rarity will also show up here, so if you need extra help, it will be ready to go. After defeating the Slitterhead, head into the room to the left and follow the hallways into the next area.

Chase Yin Yue

As you approach the room with the Master and Yin Yue, another cutscene will play out, having you chase down Yin Yue after it's finished. You will chase him into a large room where he will leap up a series of scaffolding and back into the facility. Use your Blood Jump to do the same.

Begin chasing him through the facility to get tangled up with lesser Slitterheads and a normal one, eventually having him leap down into the courtyard and onto the first floor. Follow behind him to encounter even more lesser Slitterheads.

Defeat the lesser Slitterheads, then head back toward the courtyard to see Yin Yue leap onto the second floor. Use Possession to get to the second floor quickly, then sprint toward the third-floor stairs and take them up to encounter Yin Yue.

Defeat The Followers

After arriving on the third floor, a cutscene will play, having Yin Yue sic two Slitterheads after you, allowing you to take control of Tri the moment the encounter starts. Focus on one of the Slitterheads and unleash everything you have on them.

Launching into Burning Edge and Bloody Knuckles will have you eliminate them relatively quickly, so do that as soon as you gain control of her, then hit the second Slitterhead once or twice to provoke it into its final form.

Defeat The Warty Frogfish Slitterhead

Surprise, it's another Warty Frogfish Slitterhead and has almost nothing different about it. While its attacks are the same, there will be several tiny Slitterheads in the arena, some with poisonous pustules that will inflict Poison on you if hit by them enough times. Overall, the encounter is handled the same way.

Edo will also be available for this encounter, so you can utilize his Burning Edge and Angel Step combination for obscene amounts of damage, periodically switching back to Tri to use her Bloody Knuckles for even more damage.

Again, this encounter will be handled pretty much identically to the one earlier in the mission, so you should be able to make quick work of it as you did then. Just keep up the pressure, stagger it, and unleash your Skills to make it wish it never dared to attack you!

Jar Of Poison Rewards

Clearing Jar of Poison for the first time will provide you with a huge gain of 24 Skill Tokens, which you can toss into any of your Rarity's Blood Weapons, Active Skills, or Passive Skills. Remember that these are shared and will be gone after you spend them.

And, of course, ensure you exhaust all 'Talk' options instantly after finishing the mission to unlock even more missions and get closer to the conclusion of the story!
