While rollercoasters are the fun part of Planet Coaster 2, you need rides that are more for function than enjoyment. That's where Transport Rides come in. They're used to take guests from one place in a park to another, and you can even place stops along the way to connect various places in your park.

Also, Transport Rides are the perfect chance for guests to take the weight off their feet and regain some energy. The more energy they have, the more they will want to spend money on your rides and buy things from your shops. Even if there's not much to see in other parts of your park, it's worth constructing some Transport Rides.

All Transport Rides

If you're playing career mode, you'll need to unlock them from the Research Tree, but there are five Transport Rides in total in Planet Coaster 2. They are:

Once you've decided which one fits your park best and which you'd like to build, you need to begin the building process.

How To Build Transport Rides

1. Open the build menu and select Tracked Rides.
2. Since there aren't any blueprint Transport Rides for you to add to your park, you need to select the Create Custom button to make your own.
3. Once you've chosen which ride you want, place your starting station.
4. Place tracks from this station to where you want the Transport ride to stop - you can have multiple stations along the way, with a minimum of two in total.
5. Add an entrance and exit from each station to your paths.
6. Assign a Ride Attendant to the Transport Ride and connect to a power supply if you need to.
7. The ride can then be opened.

Provided there is enough to see at each location you placed stations, your guests should start getting onto the transport rides. Free is the best price for them to be.

How To Choose The Most Suitable Transport Ride

Picking the right Transport Ride for your park comes down to a variety of factors, with each having strengths and weaknesses.

Transport Ride	Strengths and Weaknesses
Cable Car	The Cable Car is great for a few park designs. First, it's great for climbing hills and getting over tricky terrain. The fact that its tracks are above ground also allow you to maximise space and build below it. The continuous flow of pods also allows Cable Cars to transport groups of guests in regular intervals.
Monorail	Also moving in the sky, albeit not as high as the Cable Car, the Monorail is the most expensive transport ride option. However, it's also the fastest, getting guests around your park quicker than any other option. The Monorail is perfect for large parks.
Single-Decker Bus	The single-decker bus does take up a lot of space on the ground, but it does transport guests in large quantities, so it's perfect for very busy parks. Also, it's the cheapest of all transport rides and perfect for smaller parks.
Steam Boat	The Steam Boat is perfect for water-themed parks. You don't need existing water to run it, as building the ride places its own water channel. While it's great for aquatic aesthetic, it's not a cheap option, cannot go up or down, and doesn't carry many guests.
Steam Train Railroad	While it can only drop or climb by 12 degrees, the Steam Train is a well-rounded transport ride option. It's quite quick and carries a good number of guests, but it's expensive and the track isn't pretty.
