Ys X: Nordics - How To Change Outfits

Ys X: Nordics features a variety of costumes for each of the two main characters that can drastically enhance their looks. The game introduces costumes quite early on in the story by providing you with a free outfit for Karja. However, it isn't till later that you can access more outfits unless you have the DLC.

While these costumes don't provide any stat benefits, some of them do look incredibly cool. If you don't have any DLC downloaded, you can still purchase a few outfits from the shops in the game by progressing the story.

How To Get Outfits

Most of the costumes and outfit accessories in the game can be acquired via the DLC. If you have downloaded any costume DLC, you will first have to follow these steps to acquire the costumes from the DLC items in your inventory before you can equip them:

1. Press the Main Menu button.
2. Go to the Inventory section.
3. Switch to the DLC tab.
4. Select the desired DLC item and use it to obtain the outfits and materials.

How To Change Outfits

Aside from the costume, you can also equip up to three different accessories for your characters from the Cosmetics section. Once you've obtained the outfits, you can equip them by following these steps:

1. From the Main Menu, go to the equipment section.
2. Scroll down till you see the Cosmetics section.
3. Select the first option from the Cosmetics section and choose your desired outfit.
4. Scroll down and then select the other three options aside from the first one to choose outfit accessories that you want to equip for the character.

Adol and Karja wear different outfits and hairstyles. However, all other outfit accessories can be equipped for any character.

How To Change The Ship's Cosmetics

Alongside the outfits for the two main characters, you will also receive several cosmetic items for your ship, the Sandras, from the Sandras Pack DLC. However, dressing up the ship is quite different from simply changing the outfits of your characters.

You can change your characters' costumes from anywhere, but to dress your ship, you'll have to head over to a shipwright, such as Ulvar on Balta Island. After accessing a shipwright's shop, you'll have to follow these steps to change your ship's appearance:

1. Select the Check / Change Ship Loadout option from the shop menu.
2. Switch to the Loadout tab.
3. Scroll down to the Adornments section.
4. From here, you can select up to four cosmetic options for the Sandras.
