In Planet Coaster 2, you'll have the chance to build the theme park of your dreams! Include as many thrilling coasters, wild water rides, and thematic attractions as you'd like to create the perfect entertainment venue for your many guests. No two parks are the same, and part of that is due to the diligent research done on new rides.

Planet Coaster 2: Complete Guide To Research Points

While you only have a handful of tools and your imagination at the start, you can continue to grow and nurture your parks to create even more jaw-dropping rides. We'll walk you through how to unlock more rides and use your research points in Planet Coaster 2.

How To Get More Research Points

The only way to unlock new rides and attractions is to collect research points. This can be done by opening workshops in your parks. You can find them in the Facilities tab. Place one down and open it to start researching new rides and blueprints.

Workshops cost $426.00 to make

, so check your funds before you build one!

There's no need to hire more people to man the workshop, as they'll automatically be hired upon opening. Place as many as you like to curate a steady supply of research points, just make sure there's a pathway to it. They'll continue to work while you go about designing the perfect park

and completing objectives.

Staff-only paths are highly recommended, as they'll keep guests away from the entrances.<script> window.adsNinja = window.adsNinja || {}; window.adsNinja.queue = window.adsNinja.queue || []; window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ var fallbackContent = ` <video> <source src='https://video.thegamerimages.com/2024/11/planet-coaster-2-mechanic-workshop-construction-1730497190.mp4' type='video/mp4'> Your browser does not support the video tag. `; try{ var result = window.adsNinja.monetizeVideo('.emaki-video-player-28803970b9d84f0f', JSON.parse(`{\"name\":\"Instream-InContent\",\"groupName\":\"content\"}`), JSON.parse(`{\"trackingId\":\"in-content\",\"playlist\":[{\"title\":\"Planet Coaster 2 Mechanic Workshop Construction\",\"description\":\"\",\"length\":\"0:55\",\"mimeType\":\"video\/mp4\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/11\/planet-coaster-2-mechanic-workshop-construction-1730497190.mp4\",\"thumbnailLink\":\"https:\/\/static1.thegamerimages.com\/wordpress\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wm\/2024\/11\/planet-coaster-2-eugene-instructing-you-to-build-a-mechanic-workshop-in-your-park.jpg?fit=crop&w=1024&h=576\",\"textTracks\":[{\"kind\":\"subtitles\",\"label\":\"English\",\"language\":\"en\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/11\/planet-coaster-2-mechanic-workshop-construction-1730497190-1730497470.vtt\",\"default\":false}]}]}`)); if(!result){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-28803970b9d84f0f').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } } catch(error){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-28803970b9d84f0f').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } }); }); </script>

How To Use Research Points

Research points can be used to purchase new rides and attractions in Career mode. You can also use them in Sandbox, depending on your settings. These points add another level of challenge to your parks, as you'll have less variety in your rides until you unlock more thrills

for your guests.

You'll need to progress through the main campaign

to gain access to every ride.
