Dragon Age: The Veilguard pits you against Eight major enemy factions, with the Venatori serving as some of the most annoying recurring thorns in Rook's side during your adventure. This time, you have to destroy the Venatori crystals and disrupt another dangerous ritual that threatens everyone.

While the Venatori aren't particularly clever with their locking mechanisms, there is one small caveat to the glowing red crystals you'll find throughout this mission; they must be destroyed in order. The key is to follow the red beams to their source until eventually you reach an unprotected crystal; destroy this first one, and then make your way to the previously shielded ones.

How To Find The Venatori Ritual Site

Last Rites begins in the Wharf Crossing North area, where you must locate and destroy red crystals at a Venatori ritual site.

You'll notice a crystal protected by a red shield on the ground, hidden behind some large pillars.

If you wait, you'll see a red light hitting this crystal from above, which leads to another red crystal floating high above.

Destroy the unshielded floating crystal, which will, in turn, remove the shield from the first crystal near the pillars. Destroy that second crystal, then turn toward the large red barrier, where you'll see the third crystal you can destroy.

Lastly, destroy the red crystal on the door itself to deactivate the barrier and open the path.

Investigate a note in front of the double-door entrance that you can access now, and your quest will update to save the person in need.

Follow your marker down the nearby staircase to the Parthenius Main Docks.

You'll encounter a group of Venatori here, including a Blood Forge (weak to Cold, resists Fire) with a yellow armor bar on top of its normal HP.

Area of effect (AoE) skills are exceptionally good here, especially if you can group the Venatori with the Blood Forge, allowing you to deal incredible damage to all of your opponents at once.

Once you crush the Venatori forces, you'll find a civilian trapped inside a red force field with two shielded red crystals powering the civilian's main shield.

First, look up and past the boat on the civilian's right-hand side, and you'll see an object you can interact with hanging high above the ground.

Interact and reveal the first unshielded crystal, then destroy it, followed by the second crystal on the boat, with the third crystal being the one next to the civilian.

From here, look to the north to find the source of another crystal chain inside a nearby building along the dock.

Destroy the first crystal inside the building, then do a 180-degree turn from that door to break the second crystal behind you.

Finally, break the third crystal beside the civilian to free them from their red-shielded prison.

What Rewards Do You Get From Last Rites?

After you speak to the civilian, you will complete Last Rites, earning the following rewards:

  • 500 XP
  • Bond increases with your companions
  • Faction strength

There are plenty of other Venatori to defeat on your journey, so this won't be the last you see of these red crystal puzzles.
