Warden Grey's Final Repose

Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Warden Grey\'s Final Repose Walkthrough

is an interesting quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as there's a decent chance that when you unlock it, you won't actually be able to finish it. That's because it takes place in the Caves of Sharksmouth, a secret area on the Rivain Coast.

However, once you do unlock it, there is tough combat waiting for you as you tackle a massive demon. For that reason, we suggest the duo you take to Sharksmouth Caves are Neve and Harding, as the Demon is Vulnerable to Cold and Resistant to Fire, and the Shades that swarm around it are Vulnerable to Cold also but Resistant to Nectrotic. With the right team, you can make short work of them.

The first note is pretty easy to find, hiding on a ledge on Castle Bailey against the wall. Climb across the beam to read the first note. At this point, you might not be able to progres further for a while.

When you climb across the beam at Castle Bailey to access Warden Grey's Final Repose, it may tell you that you cannot go any further in your search until you reach the Caves of Sharksmouth. The short answer is these are locked until you progress further in Taash's story, and so Warden Grey's Final Repose is locked until that point.

How To Defeat The Fury Of Sharksmouth

The three Shades will attack from range and teleport away, making them highly annoying. Neve's Abilities should be used on these first, while you should also used ranged attacks to get rid of their Barrier, then move onto the Fury itself, which is a Superior Rage Demon.

This demon is on fire, and dashes around leaving dangerous flames on the floor. It also breathes fire, but that is your chance to attack. When it uses fire breath, it stays in one place for a long time. Use this moment to get to the side of it and hit it with Heavy attacks to remove its Armor.

As well as leaving fire on the ground, there are six main attacks to look out for:

  • Melee swipes whenever you approach and it is not breathing fire, so dodge in and out
  • Explosive fire when it glows red you should dodge away from
  • Charge attacks when a red rectangle appears in front of it (stay out of the rectangle)
  • Fire bombs (dodge the red circles and rush forward to attack)
  • Fire bolts (dodge to the side like a ranged attack)
  • Fire currents (dodging through does no damage, so use this moment to attack)
