Not all companions are part of your team from the start of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. As the story progresses, you need to recruit some new members to add skills you need to defeat the threat of the elven gods. Since Rook and your team are faced by two menacing dragons, you need to recruit a Dragon Hunter for the team. That person is Taash.
You meet them as part of a quest called Dragon Slayer. The quest takes you to the Rivain Coast for the first time - arguably the most beautiful location in Thedas - and you need to complete some puzzles as you make your way through the sunny town.
As soon as you set foot in the Rivain Coast, you meet and speak to Taash. She introduces herself and you follow her to the beach.
Along the way, you fight a group of Antaam enemies in a courtyard, including a few heavy armored ones. Once you've taken them out, head up the steps and into the main part of the fort. You'll need to knock down a wall and head through. Slide down the sandy hill and you're into the next section of the quest.
As soon as you enter the big open area, you'll need to fight a group of deepstalkers. They're easy to kill, just stay on the move and keep your finger over the dodge button as they're repeatedly flying through the air at you.
However, you will quickly also need to fight a Deepstalker Matriarch, which isn't really any different to the basic enemies, beyond being level 17, having an armor bar, and a lot more health. You can approach it in the same way.
Once you've defeated it, follow Taash up the waterfall towards the next objective. You'll need to blow the horn to bring the dragon to the area. However, once you do, Taash will explain that the dragon isn't coming and you'll have to venture further into the fort to find it.
As you explore the next part of the fort, you'll encounter a puzzle that's worth completing. Once you've climbed up and you briefly see the dragon fly through the fort in front of you, you'll spot a closed gate to your left and an open arch to your right.
Head down the ladder to the right and attack the wooden boards, boxes, and barrels in the way. Keep heading forward and you'll be in a room with three statues, each of which having a lever you can push or pull on them with. You need the statues' levers facing the following directions.
A ladder will then drop for you to climb back up and grab the treasure. The gate you saw before will now be open to let you out and continue through the fort.
In terms of how to find the solution, if you want to do it all properly - you'll notice there are three small figures carved into the wall on the left in the same formation you need to put the statues down below.
Then, take the zipline across to the next part of the fort. You just need to follow the waypoints through the fort until you fight an armored Antaam soldier. They're slow but have a lot of health, so take it out as you would any standard enemy - just be patient.
A door will now be open behind him, so follow through, opening the chests and the reading Antaam notes in the cellar room. Taash will then explain to you that she gave the dragon something to put it to sleep. You just need to take the door outside, fight more Antaam and then head back to where you fought the deepstalker.
The dragon is now asleep on the beach, but it is surrounded by Antaam who want to catch it for themselves. You will stay up on the ledge while Taash goes down to talk to them. She's soon breathing fire at them, so the chat doesn't go well.
You then join in and try to fight off the Antaam. Once you've cleared out the area, the dragon will wake up and fly off.
In the final part of the quest, you will meet Taash's mother, and you need to pledge to protect Taash. She becomes an important part of Taash's companion quest line, so be sure to treat her with respect.
Once the scene over dinner is over, the quest will be finished and you can continue with the next quest.
