Solana's cat-themed meme coin, cat in a dogs world (MEW), soared to a new all-time high of $0.01136 on Oct. 24, fueled by a surge in meme coin demand.

The MEW token price rallied 26% in 24 hours to hit $0.01114 on Monday, with buyers outnumbering sellers by 26%. The 24-hour volume surged 177% to $474 million, and MEW's market cap reached $990 million.

Crypto.news market data showed that MEW was the 83rd largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

In the meme coin segment, MEW was ranked 10th overall, ahead of Mog Coin (MOG) and Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), which also had a strong day.

Bitstamp lists MEW token

Crypto exchange Bitstamp announced on Oct. 24 that it had integrated cat in a dogs world (MEW) and WOO Network (WOO) token trading. Bitstamp added MEW/USD and MEW/EUR pairs for its users worldwide.

Solana (SOL)-based decentralized on-chain perpetual swap platform Drift Protocol also added support for MEW perpetual futures. The contract provides traders with up to 4x leverage.

This follows the launch of MEW perps on Kwenta and Synthetix on layer-2 chain Base, which went live on Oct. 22.

The combination of surging meme coins and a series of listings catalyzed the cat-themed token's spike to a new all-time high.

Data from Coinglass showed that cat in a dogs world futures open interest jumped 59% to $211 million.

The bullish outlook for the meme coin also saw MEW liquidations hit $2.47 million in 24 hours – mainly short liquidations, totaling $1.79 million.
