Coinbase’s “Stand with Crypto” campaign, which began in the US last year, has now reached Canada, aiming to engage the country's five million crypto holders.

This move is part of the fintech giant's strategy to "drive regulatory clarity in Canada," as stated by Coinbase Canada CEO Lucas Matheson.

“We believe that Coinbase is uniquely positioned to capitalize on regulatory clarity and help Canada be a leader in the industry,” he said earlier this summer.

Coinbase's expansion of the Stand with Crypto campaign into Canada aligns with the company's broader effort to deepen its presence in international markets.

Ranked third globally in crypto awareness, Canada boasts an "enthusiastic tech ecosystem that has the potential to be a leader in the global crypto economy," according to the US-based firm.

To this end, Coinbase has invested in several Canadian crypto startups, including Fintech.ca standouts MinervaAI (Toronto) and Dapper Labs (Vancouver), as well as Axelar, Horizon Blockchain Games, and Zapper.

In fact, Canada is now the company's largest technology and talent hub outside the US, with over 200 full-time employees in Canada since hiring began here in 2021.

Moving forward, Coinbase's Canadian team is set to expand further, as Matheson recently announced.

“We're hiring in Canada,” the Canadian lead posted on LinkedIn.

Matheson highlighted that there are currently over 40 open roles available at Coinbase Canada, spanning a diverse range of engineering roles, as well as positions in machine learning, marketing, product, and security.

However, the crypto company may not be everyone's ideal workplace.

“Working at Coinbase is not for the faint of heart,” cautions L J Brock, Coinbase's chief people officer, who adds that top-tier talent is the fintech's number one operating priority. “For those who are purpose-driven, high-achieving, action-oriented, and convicted in the potential of crypto, there is no better place to be.”

The people chief promises that hires will be “surrounded by outlier talent who work incredibly hard ... and you will have the opportunity to do the best work of your life.”
