Ben Armstrong Hints at Major XRP Announcements, World Reserve Currency Status Unlikely

Popular crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy, recently hinted at significant upcoming news regarding XRP’s role in shaping the global financial system.

Armstrong shared his insights during an interaction with X with XRP community member Edo Farina, which sparked discussions about the digital asset’s potential for widespread global adoption.

Farina shared an image that highlighted connections between key Ripple executives, including chairman Chris Larsen, and influential global financial institutions. These institutions included the U.S. Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The image suggested that Ripple's leadership team, both past and present, had substantial ties to influential bodies like the Federal Reserve, IMF, WEF, SEC, and SWIFT.

According to Farina, these connections could lead to the digital asset being recognized as a World Reserve Currency. This idea has been promoted by many XRP enthusiasts, like Farina, who expressed optimism about the token’s future. However, Armstrong offered a different perspective on the matter.

Armstrong's View on XRP and Global Reserve Currency Status

While Armstrong acknowledged the importance of Ripple’s connections and the critical role the asset could play in the global financial system, he disagreed with the notion that the token would achieve the status of a world reserve currency. "That is not going to happen,” he said, presenting a more tempered view of the asset’s potential.

Instead, Armstrong suggested that BRICS Pay, a payment system being developed by BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), is more likely to become a global reserve currency. Despite this disagreement, Armstrong maintained that the token would still be integral to the future of the financial world.

Anticipation of Major Announcements

Armstrong hinted at further developments related to XRP that are expected to be announced soon, which may provide additional clarity on its role. He highlighted that while he and Farina have different opinions on how the token will influence global finance, they agree on its future success.

"These connections are real. This is why I’ve been telling you XRP will WIN. Ripple & XRP will play a HUGE role in underpinning what is coming. Announcements coming soon regarding this,” he noted.

Although Armstrong does not believe the token will become a world reserve currency, he stressed that upcoming announcements would shed light on how the token is set to shape the global financial infrastructure.

With these hints of major updates ahead, the token’s supporters are eagerly awaiting more details about how the cryptocurrency could impact the future of the financial sector.
