Pakistan had a tough grind from the outset as they lost six wickets in the first 10 overs, including the experienced Nida Dar.

The struggle continued as only two Pakistan batters managed to reach double figures: Muneeba Ali, who scored 15 off 11 balls, and skipper Sana herself, who made 21 off 23 deliveries.

Four Pakistani batters, including opener Aliya Riaz, failed to open their accounts.

For New Zealand, Amelia Kerr was the wrecker-in-chief with three wickets, while Eden Carson picked up two.

Rosemary Mair, Lea Tahuhu, and Fran Jones took one wicket each to dismantle the Pakistan lineup.

New Zealand, who opted to bat after winning the toss, set a target of 111, losing six wickets in the process.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, who returned to action after a personal loss, led her team’s bowling effort during New Zealand’s innings.

Suzie Bates was the top scorer for the Kiwis with 28, while Brooke Halliday made 22 and Sophie Devine contributed 19.

Pakistan’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Nashra Sandhu, who took three wickets for 18 runs. Omaima Sohail, Nida Dar, and Sadia Iqbal also picked up a wicket each, setting up a chase of 111 runs for their team.
