Peter Todd, Bitcoin Core Developer, Named as Satoshi Nakamoto in Leaked HBO Documentary Clip

Filmmaker Cullen Hoback has named Peter Todd, a Bitcoin Core developer involved with BTC since 2010, as who he believes to be the real-world identity of Satoshi Nakamoto in a leaked clip from the upcoming HBO documentary film.

However, Todd has denied this, stating "of course I'm not Satoshi," and that Hoback was “grasping at straws.”

Despite denying the claim, Todd, a Bitcoin Core developer, has confirmed that he was interviewed for the documentary and that the viral clip is not a deepfake.

"It's ironic that a director who is also known for a documentary on QAnon has resorted to QAnon style coincidence-based conspiracy thinking here too," Todd added.

The viral clip circulating on social media also shows Todd calling the idea of him being Satoshi "ludicrous."

It is important to note that only snippets of the film are going viral on social media, and it is possible that Hoback may reach a different conclusion in the final version of the documentary. The film could even conclude without revealing Satoshi's real identity.
