Visa is preparing to launch a platform for issuing stablecoins in 2025, enabling banks to issue and manage digital assets.

The platform, called the Visa Tokenized Asset Platform, will allow banks to issue fiat-backed tokens, including stablecoins, and manage digital transactions more efficiently.

As part of their digital operations, VTAP will enable banks to mint, burn, and transfer stablecoins and other fiat-backed tokens.

According to Visa, the platform is currently being tested, and operations are expected to begin next year.
