The Galaxy A16 5G (or Samsung SM-A166x) is projected to launch alongside a 4G/LTE-only counterpart (the SM-A165x), now tipped to do so with an up-to-2.2GHz octa-core chipset that may or may not be the MediaTek Helio G99.
That new detail is part of a new SamInsider leak, extending to "complete specifications" for both A16-series members this time.
There is mention for 90Hz FHD AMOLED displays in both devices as might be expected (as are their waterdrop-style notches even in 2024) - however, both are 6.7 inches in diagonal length compared to 6.5 inches in the A15 series.
The A16 and A16 5G will apparently have the same specsas their predecessors otherwise, however, 50 5 2MP rear cameras included.
Then again, there is no mention of 3.5mm jacks next to USB-C ports in either upcoming device, as opposed to this A15 5G on Amazon.
Then again, SamInsider hints that one or both of the A16 series will have IP54 dust- and water-resistance whereas their forebears do not.
The Galaxy A16 and A16 5G are thought to start for less than €250 (~$276) in Europe, albeit without a power brick for their up-to-25W 5,000mAh batteries in the box.
