Packing serious heat is the name of the game in Remnant 2, and the Dark Horizon DLC adds plenty of mega weapons to unlock and equip. However, as usual, getting your hands on them isn’t as straightforward as it could be.

All new weapons in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon

There are a total of five new weapons to collect in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon, dotted around the map. These are the ones found so far, and how to get ahold of them.

Where to find the Monorail in Remnant 2

To unlock the Monorail weapon in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon, you must defeat the Alepsis Taura boss. This will award the Eternity Chamber, combined with seven Luminite Crystals and 1,000 Scrap. Bring these to Ava at Ward 13 to receive the weapon.

Make sure that you get the alt kill on Alepsis Taura for this weapon. To do this, simply ignore the huge shielding pyramids that will show up at the end of some dungeons. If you destroy these, you will end up with the Dark Matter Gauntlets.

Is the Monorail good?

The Monorail is a charged weapon with three rounds in a magazine. If charged too much, it will explode, resulting in a black hole that will instantly kill you. However, if you time the charge perfectly, it absolutely devastates enemies.

The Monorail is a tricky weapon to use, but once you master the timing of the charge, it can be very effective. The Recoil Dampner special ability further stabilizes the gun, making it slightly easier to use and multiplying the critical chance and damage.

I found using the Monorail at a mid-range quite effective, although the charge time and small magazine size meant I was overwhelmed quickly. It pairs well with the Closed Loop ring, giving additional armor when using a charged shot.

Where to find the Harvester Sythe in Remnant 2

I found this weapon in the Agronomy Sector just to the right of the main ravine. I had to enter a small cave in the wall by gliding down (which is near where you get the Warden Archetype) and fighting a miniboss. After this battle, the Harvester Sythe was on a corpse. However, this is a random drop weapon and can only be found through exploration.

Is the Harvester Sythe good?

This quickly became my favorite melee weapon in the Remnant 2 Dark Horizon DLC due to its speed and significant damage. It has a great combo of attacks that grow in damage with each swing. I found that I was able to pull this weapon out in a tight spot to dispatch groups of enemies quickly.

The charged and regular swings with this weapon do plenty of damage, but to lay on some serious devastation, the special ability should be used. When activated, a phantom follows the blade, adding damage and speed and reducing charge time with every swing.

Once you grab yourself a couple of the weapons, make sure you get your hands on the armor set designed specifically for the Remnant 2 Dark Horizon DLC.

Where to find the Black Greatsword in Dark Horizon

The Black Greatsword is a wonderful nod to Berserk, the anime. This monstrous metal sword is seemingly far to big to weild, but once it gets going, it’s devastating. Finding the Black Greatsword is a prime example of the many obtuse ways Remnant 2 likes to hide their weapons.

First, speak to Bravis in Ward 13, and purchase everything he has for sale. Once you have cleared out his shop, speak to him again, and he will give you the Black Metal Bars. These need to be taken to McCabe, where you can then craft them into the Black Greatsword.

Unlike most other weapons in Remanant 2, this one will actually take some time to be produced. Go out, do some missions, clear some bosses, and return. The weapon is worth the wait.

Is the Black Greatsword good?

Sure, it’s massive and looks great, but is the Black Greatsword actually a good weapon in the new Dark Horizon Remnant 2 DLC? Just like Guts sword in Berserk, the weapon is incredibly heavy and slow to use. However, when charged, and provided your attacks actually connect, it has some of the highest damage in the game.

The Indomitable Strike special attack boosts damage by an enormous 350% and converts damage to grey health. This, in turn, feeds the mutator, called Guts, which increases melle critical chance by 25% when grey health is present.

How to get the Repair Tool in Remanant 2 Dark Horizon

This is a quick and easy weapon to get in Dark Horizon if you know where to look. It is important to note that you can not pick up the Repair Tool if you are in a one-shot mode. You must be in either Campaign mode or re-roll the N’Arud adventure mode to get it.

When you land in the Agronomy Sector in the Overworld, head to the left, up the slope, where the robot head is lying on the ground. Continue up the slope, and to the left, you will see a glowing pedestal with purple electricity around it. In this pedestal, you must place either the Decorum Cypher from the Terminus Station dungeon or the Memory Core 2, which can be grabbed from the Dormant N’erudian Facility. This will open a small doorway close by where you can grab the Repair Tool in Dark Horizon.

Is the Repair tool good?

This may not deal a lot of damage, but when playing in a squad, having the ability to heal or deal damage all in one handy weapon is essential. This is where the Repair Tool shines. It is a great gun to use to pick off a few enemies that may be swarming an ally, only to heal them in the same moment.

As a secondary weapon, it does what it needs to do. It can hold off some enemies for a time as a last stand, and it has the ability to heal others. This is a great addition to any squad, bringing the ability to clear and boost at the same time.

How to get the Dark Matter Gauntlets

The Dark Matter Gauntlets are a fantastic melee weapon for any melee build in Remnant 2. It’s well worth the extra in-game steps to get the item that unlocks these two first-mounted gloves of destruction.

To unlock these gauntlets, you must defeat the final boss of the new Dark Horizon DLC. However, before you take on the final boss, you must also destroy the black glowing pyramids that feed into either side of it. These can be found at the end of Dungeons around the DLC map.

Once you have destroyed the two pyramids and beaten the DLC boss, you will receive the material that must be taken to McCabe in Ward 13. She will then craft the gauntlets for you.

Are the Dark Matter Gauntlets good?

Don’t overlook these new Gauntlets in Remnant 2, as they may have a short range, but up close, they’re devastating. The special that comes along with them also makes them a serious contender, especially in squad matches. The Darkness Beam that deals 125 Melee Damage every 0.5 seconds can flatten everything from crowds of grunts to elites.

At close range, the attack speed is great, and the damage is formidable. However, it is a weapon that demands some pretty significant shields to be able to weather the close-range damage that will occur.

    • While empowered, performing a Charged Melee Attack during a Neutral Backdash gathers power for up to 5s, then fires a DARKNESS BEAM that deals 125 Melee Damage every 0.5s. The beam duration equals its time charge, then ends Kilonova after firing.
