Samsung has announced a new Galaxy Chromebook Plus, which is powered by a Raptor Lake-R CPU. More specifically, it's the non-Ultra Intel Core 3 100U, which is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. While this is far from being the fastest processor for a laptop, Chromebooks don't need powerful hardware to begin with. This is because they rely on cloud-based apps.
Speaking of cloud integration, Google Gemini is now integrated into Samsung's new Galaxy Chromebook Plus. In addition to this, the Plus laptops running ChromeOS will be getting many new features, including Welcome Recap, Live Translate, and Focus.
The Welcome Recap is particularly interesting as it lets you quickly open all the previous windows and apps. Beyond these, the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus comes with a sleek build. It features a thin, light design and is equipped with a 15.6-inch OLED screen.
This OLED display has a rated brightness of 400 nits, which means it can get bright enough under most lighting conditions. Samsung also promises a reliable battery life, with a runtime of up to 13 hours. Another big highlight of the laptop is that it comes with the new Quick Insert button.
That button makes the 2024 Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus gain one of the new ChromeOS features. It offers quick access to Gemini AI, emojis, and other elements. The laptop is priced at €799 (about $885.70) and is expected to be available soon.
