Intel Arc Battlemage: Next-gen desktop GPU makes Geekbench debut with 12 GB VRAM.

A new Intel desktop GPU has made its Geekbench debut. It is the first Battlemage SKU to show up on the benchmarking platform, where it scores 97,943 points in the OpenCL test. This puts in on par with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 or Intel Arc A770 desktop. On the AMD side, it sits between the Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7600 XT.

Some digging into the Linux kernel driver database using the GPU's PCIe ID (E20B) reveals it is based on Intel's next-gen Battlemage architecture. A total of five Battlemage SKUs are listed there, and judging by their names this GPU is likely the second most powerful of the lot. It was tested alongside an Intel Core i7-13700K on a Z970 motherboard with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM.

As far as its actual specs are concerned, the GPU has 160 compute units (20 Xe cores), 12 GB VRAM and a maximum boost clock of 2,850 MHz. This is the first time a Battlemage desktop GPU has shown up on Geekbench, so it shouldn't be long before Intel shows it off. A CES 2025 launch seems optimistic, as Intel will probably have its hands full showing off Arrow Lake laptop chips, non-K Arrow Lake-S desktop chips and a bunch of other stuff.
