Leaker @Quadro_News has managed to obtain one of the missing pieces relating to the release of Insta360's next action camera. To recap, the design of the Ace Pro 2 was already known. Additionally, recent leaks outlined a few specifications for the Ace Pro (curr. $349.00 on Amazon) successor, including up to three hours battery life when recording at 8K/30 FPS.
Unfortunately, the majority of technical details for this year's Insta360 action camera remain unknown for now. However,@Quadro_Newshas now revealed how much the Ace Pro 2 will cost in the US. Supposedly, Insta360 intends to charge $399.99 for the camera itself; presumably, Insta360 will continue to offer combo packages like its GPS, Creator and Motorcycle Kits too, though.
On the face of it, this price would make the Ace Pro 2 $50 more expensive than DJI's Osmo Action 5 Pro. Conversely, it would also mean that Insta360 would price match GoPro, which sells the Hero 13 Black for the same price in the US. Added to that, a launch price of $399.99 would also make the Ace Pro 2 11% cheaper than its predecessor at launch and just 5% pricier than the Ace. Given the the lack of Ace 2-related leaks, we suspect that Insta360 will effectively replace both action cameras with one new model this time around.
