In addition to the Vivo V40e, Vivo also announced the V40 Lite today, which is positioned as an even more affordable alternative to the Vivo V40 5G. The Vivo V40 Lite has a modern design considering the price, including narrow screen edges, a pill-shaped camera module, and a flat frame.
Vivo offers a 4G model based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685and a 5G version with Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, whereby the two smartphones are identical apart from the ARM chip. The 5G model is, therefore, a remarkable 46 percent faster than the 4G version. The Vivo V40 Lite has a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The 32 MP selfie camera sits in a central punch-hole, while the camera module on the back houses a 50 MP main camera based on the Sony IMX882 and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The LED ring in the camera module, which Vivo calls "Aura Light", is designed to illuminate portraits more softly than a conventional LED flash, and the color temperature can be adjusted to the ambient light with the help of AI. The 5,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C with up to 80W. The Vivo V40 Lite comes with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
