Four years after launching the Monitor II ANC, Marshall has announced the Monitor III ANC over-the-ear headphones. The new pair of headphones come with upgrades in sound quality, noise cancellation, and a big jump in battery life.

The Monitor III headphones bring a couple of new features such as support for soundstage spatial audio for an immersive audio experience. There is also Adaptive Loudness which adjusts the sound balance and dynamics based on the playback volume as well as your surroundings. Interestingly, the Monitor III headphones come with 32 mm drivers unlike the previous generation which have 40 mm drivers.

Marshall also claims it has upgraded features such as ANC, transparency mode, and voice quality, so users should notice improvements in these areas. The microphones have also been redesigned to reduce wind noise for better ANC and call quality when on the move. The headphones also have support for Bluetooth LE audio and Auracastlike the Emberton III portable speaker (available on Amazon for $169).

The biggest upgrade the Monitor III brings is in terms of battery life. While the Monitor II ANC will last up to 45 hours on a single charge (30 hours with ANC on), the Monitor III has a battery life of 100 hours with ANC off and 70 hours with ANC turned on. Like the Monitor II, they charge via USB-C and a full charge takes 2.5 hours.

The 3rd generation headphones retain the signature Marshall look with its self-healing leather-clad design and swivel cups that can be folded when not in use. Marshall says the headband has been redesigned to be more comfortable. The brass colored multi-directional knob and customizable M-Button have been retained, too. The latter can be used to change equalizer settings, launch Spotify, or access your phone's voice assistant.
