Hamster Kombat, a Telegram-based play-to-earn crypto game, has released important details regarding its upcoming token launch and airdrop.

Telegram-based play-to-earn crypto game Hamster Kombat has unveiled crucial details pertaining to its upcoming token launch and airdrop. However, the announcement has sparked frustration among players due to a staggered release of tokens.

Initially, players were led to believe that they could claim their entire token allocation on launch day. But according to the latest update, only 88.75% of the tokens will be available for immediate claim, leaving 11.25% locked in a 10-month vesting period. The remaining tokens will be fully unlocked by July 2025.

This staggered release of tokens was not previously disclosed, and many players are now expressing their frustration on social media platforms. Some users were already disappointed with the changes in airdrop allocation criteria, and the lock-in period has further escalated their不满.

They are even calling this one of the worst airdrops in crypto history.

The value of the HMSTR token will only be determined once trading begins on The Open Network (TON) on September 26. However, players have compared the situation to the recent Catizen airdrop, which also faced backlash for its unexpected token lockups.

Only 43% of Players Are Eligible for the Hamster Coin Airdrop

Hamster Kombat’s announcement also clarified the final eligibility for the airdrop. Out of the 300 million players, only 129 million remain eligible for the token distribution. Initially, 131 million players qualified, but 2.3 million were later disqualified due to violations of the game’s rules, primarily involving cheating.

Hamster Kombat has allocated 60 billion HMSTR coin—60% of the total token supply of 100 billion—for the current airdrop. The remaining 15 billion tokens are reserved for Season 2 of the game. During this interlude season, Hamster Kombat players will still have opportunities to earn additional coins.
