Evan Noel drilled a 61-yard field goal Friday to set a Mississippi high school record, according to WLOX anchor Matt DeGregorio.

The five-star Arkansas commit's kick also matched the SEC record, DeGregorio reported.

It was a bright spot in St. Stanislaus' (Bay St. Louis, Miss.) game, a 47-10 loss to Pass Christian (Miss.) that ended a two-game winning streak for the Rock-a-Chaws.

Noel broke the record of 59 yards set by Lemeko Williams of Clarksdale High School (Miss.) in 1994, putting Mississippi officially into the category of 60+ yards that at least 27 states are in, according to MaxPreps.

It's the second straight year at least one high school kicker has hit a field goal longer than 60 yards, following Keelan Anderson of Cheyenne South (Wy.) School, who set a Wyoming record of 61 yards last year.

The longest high school field goal of all time was off the foot of Dirk Borgognone, who hit a 68-yarder for Reno (Nev.) in 1985, according to MaxPreps.

Noel is ranked by Kohl's Kicking as the No. 2 kicker in the class of 2025, impressing at the National Scholarship Camp and 2024 Underclassman Challenge.
