Alleged early Meta Quest 3S ad suggests that the VR headset will be affordable

Meta is expected to launch the Quest 3S in the coming Connect 2024 event. While this event is still days away, Peacock may have possibly published an advertisement video for the virtual reality headset early. Per this clip, which was shared by a Redditor on the OculusQuest subreddit, the VR headset will be affordable.

More specifically, the alleged advertisement shows that the Meta Quest 3S will start at $299.99. To compare, the non-S variant of the headset starts at $499.99 for the 128 GB variant (available on Amazon), which means the upcoming VR headset will possibly be $200 cheaper.

This advertisement leak corroborates the design render leak from last month. As the clip shows, the Quest 3S has two IR tracking cameras, two IR illuminators, and two passthrough cameras on the front. This advertisement clip also hints that the new virtual reality headset could use the same controllers as the non-S VR headset.

Nothing else was revealed in the alleged advertisement video, but a previous leakclaimed that the Quest 3S will be powered by the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 that’s inside the Quest 3. The affordable VR headset is also expected to feature LCD screens with 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye resolution, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, and 3-position IPD/IAD adjustment.
