Garmin brings high battery drain bug fix to multiple smartwatches with new update

Garmin has now introduced a new round of updates for its latest smartwatches. For reference, the company released the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 in late August. However, a recent leak suggests that Garmin may soon introduce not just the Fenix 8 Pro in two sizes but potentially also a new Fenix 8 model with a MicroLED display.

Although the release of those three smartwatches remains unknown for now, it has now started distributing the second stable update to theEnduro 3,Fenix EandFenix 8(curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon). Incidentally, the company has elected against issuing any beta updates for the trio yet.

At any rate, System Software 11.64 replaces v11.60 with another round of bug fixes. To recap, the latter was only intended to correct an unspecified translation issue. By contrast, Garmin hopes that System Software 11.64 fixes two outstanding bugs. While this may seem relatively minor, they should be important quality-of-life improvements for the three smartwatches. Specifically, System Software 11.64 is said to make the following changes:

  • Fixed possible high battery drain after an activity.
  • Fixed possible issue with the naps widget displaying an unexpectedly high duration.
