SocialAI brings the dead internet theory to life

While not as ridiculous as the renewed flat Earth theory, the dead internet theory seems to have a quite solid connection to reality. After all, bots have been replacing organic human traffic for a while in certain online areas, and the state actors/various corporation have been caught red-handed more than just once while trying to manipulate the public. Now, SocialAI comes with a mild version of this theory, providing what can be described as a single-user social network for people who are tired of humans that behave like bots and would rather just interact with bots from the start.

Michael Sayman, SocialAI's creator, has recently revealed that the technology has finally caught up to his vision of this consumer app that has been impossible to write for years. Now, his app comes as "a private social network where you receive millions of AI-generated comments offering feedback, advice & reflections on each post you make." When joining, the user gets to choose the types of followers desired. The list of options available includes the most common types of human followers one usually gets online, such as fans, supporters, trolls, critics, alarmists, skeptics, haters, nerds, and so on. After that, each post will receive feedback from the selected categories of bots.

Sadly, SocialAI is only available via the App Store for now and there is no functional web-based version live yet. Until the launch of this app as a web service or at least as an app for Android devices, those who want to know more about the dead internet theory should check out Dead Internet Theory: The Battle for Authenticity in an AI-Dominated Internetby Casey Brooks, available for free with Kindle Unlimited and $0.99 to buy.
