Huawei releases Watch GT 5 smartwatch across Europe and UK in two sizes with early launch gift

Huawei has now started selling the Watch GT 5, which has debuted globally alongside the Watch GT 5 Pro and the Watch D2. Added to that, Huawei has also showcased the MatePad Pro 12.2 and MatePad 12 X today outside China, details of which we have covered separately. As for the Watch GT 5, Huawei has decided to offer it in 41 mm and 46 mm variants in the following finishes:

  • 41 mm: Black, Blue, Brown, Gold, White
  • 46 mm: Black, Blue, Brown

The 41 mm and 46 mm versions of the Watch GT 5 differ in other areas, just like the Watch GT 4 before it. For instance, the larger variant should last significantly longer between charges than its smaller sibling. Allegedly, while 41 mm variants will need topping up after 3 days with their always-on display (AOD), the 46 mm model should be good for 5 days.

The 46 mm version also has a larger OLED display, which spans 1.43-inches across and outputs at 466 x 466 pixels with a 326 PPI. By contrast, the 41 mm edition has a 1.32-inch panel with the same resolution and a higher 352 PPI. Both sizes are 5 ATM water resistant and IP69K certified, though. For reference, the Watch GT 5 starts at £229/€249 in its 41 mm guise and rises to £269/€299 with a milanese strap. Alternatively, the larger 46 mm option retails for at least £229/€249 and comes with a free pair of FreeBuds 5i (curr. $89.99 on Amazon) earbuds in some markets.
