A new Honkai Star Rail patch means a new big event is here, and Luminary Wardance is a lengthy series of battles that rewards you with a ton of Stellar Jades and enhancement materials. Even though this event gives you maxed-out trial characters for each of its battles, it can still be tough to defeat every boss with an S-rank to get the best possible rewards.
This battle-focused event requires you to be Trailblaze Level 21 and to complete the Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue Trailblaze Continuance quest involving Feixiao. If you don’t mind some light story spoilers, you can use the Finality’s Vision feature in the Travel Log to skip the prerequisite quests and begin the event right away.
The Luminary Wardance event will be live in Honkai Star Rail from Tuesday, September 10, 2024 through the end of version 2.5 on Monday, October 21, 2024. After the event period ends, you can still earn some of the rewards since Luminary Wardance will become permanently available via the Conventional Memoir. All of the limited time rewards (like most of the Stellar Jades) won’t be obtainable at that point, however.
By winning battles and completing challenges in the Luminary Wardance event, you can earn the usual rewards like enhancement materials and credits. There are a total of 1,930 Stellar Jades up for grabs plus a Self-Modeling Resin as per usual. This event also rewards the Moment of Triumph phone wallpaper, a Tuskpir pet, and most importantly, three Eidolons for March 7th’s Hunt form.
To earn all of these rewards, you just need to play through the event questline and defeat all of the Knockout Matches and boss battles. Just use the trial characters and you won’t have any trouble at all. Finishing the event questline “Even When Cheers Fade” will get you all of the Tactics and other unlocks required to earn the event rewards.
The real challenge of the Luminary Wardance event is Dreamscape Training, which features much harder versions of the bosses you face during the event storyline. Keep reading to learn the best teams and tips to take down Topaz, Boothill, and more in Dreamscape Training to get all of the Luminary Wardance event rewards.
The battle against Topaz requires you to inflict Weakness Break or defeat enemies to seize their IPC Performance Points in order to gain Vibes and enter the Super Hype state. When a character seizes three Performance Points, their action is advanced forward and their Ultimate damage is significantly increased.
This is the best team to defeat Topaz in Dreamscape Training.
Go with Early Reveal for your Tactical Codex and Blu Bull for your Tactical Beverage. These will drastically increase your damage output and increase your team’s Weakness Break efficiency, making it easier to claim Performance Points and accumulate Vibes. With this setup, entering the Super Hype state is basically a free kill on the boss with Acheron’s Ultimate.
The Boothill battle is all about DoT effects, which is why the trial characters are perfect for this fight. Since the Memory Zone Meme “Something Unto Death” is the main enemy here, there are a ton of adds on the field. Clearing those summoned adds will generate Vibes. We recommend this team for Dreamscape Training: Boothill.
Choose Lie in Wait and Devil’s Hand for your Tactical Codex and Tactical Beverage. The former applies several DoTs to all enemies, while the latter increases the damage taken by enemies with DoTs. If you don’t have Acheron, then Harmony Trailblazer is a strong F2P replacement.
Argenti’s boss battle is also about defeating summoned adds, so the strategy is mostly the same as the previous Dreamscape Training fight. Using Ultimates frequently will also add some extra damage because of Arena Environment as well. With that in mind, we recommend this team for Dreamscape Training: Argenti.
Out of Thin Air is the best Tactical Codex for this battle, and Westroc Super Drink is the best Tactical Beverage. Out of Thin Air lets your entire team use their Ultimates when activated, while Westroc Super Drink regenerates Energy for every target defeated. They play very nicely with the rules for this fight. Tingyun can be subbed in for Sparkle if you don’t have her, and the same goes for any buffer.
Svarog is already an annoying boss on his own, and the Dreamscape Training version of his boss battle is even worse. Follow-up attacks and all consecutive actions are the key to victory here since they increase overall Ultimate damage and generate Vibes. Try this team if you’re having trouble with Dreamscape Training: Svarog.
Choose Uproot the Cause as your Tactical Codex for huge burst damage. Go with Mighty Quench for your Tactical Beverage to increase your damage output after follow-up attacks. Feixiao and March will carry you through this fight with Robin buffing their damage output. Gallagher is the best sustain for this scenario, but you can swap in anyone else to fill his role.
Yanqing is the final boss for Dreamscape Training. The rules are simple. Just inflict Weakness Break to gain Vibes. Break damage is massively increased for this battle, and inflicting Weakness Break will advance your characters’ actions forward as well. Thankfully, the game gives you some great Break-focused trial units. Use this team to make quick work of Yanqing.
Firefly and Harmony Trailblazer make an incredibly strong Break duo, and you even get to try out Lingsha as your support for this fight. Stealing Their Thunder is the best Tactical Codex for this fight since it increases Weakness Break efficiency, grants bonus skill points, and advances your team’s actions forward. Go with High Energy SoulGlad as your Tactical Beverage to massively increase Break Effect for your team, too.
March’s Hunt form is also an incredibly strong Break unit, so add her to the team. If you don’t have her built, then any buffer will do to make sure that Firefly can really carry your team against Yanqing. March makes this fight a lot easier though, so we recommend investing in her at least a little bit if you haven’t already.
With that, you’ve completed all five stages of Dreamscape Training in Honkai Star Rail’s Luminary Wardance event! If you’re just in it for the Stellar Jades, then you don’t need to get an S-rank on all the fights. If you want the maximum amount of Relic Remains and other rare materials, though, you’ll need to take down every wave of every fight before the turn limit expires.
