Deal | Google Pixel 8 Pro sees a massive 38% discount, dropping to a new record-low price

Google Pixel 9 series became official last month. Although the new Android phones have seen upgrades in multiple areas, the last-gen lineup is still worth considering if you want a Pixel. The good part is that the top-end model from the previous series is on sale.

More specifically, the 128 GB Google Pixel 8 Pro has dropped to $624, a massive $375 discount from what the Android phone usually sells for. This is also the all-time low price on Amazon, making it a good deal for those interested in the smartphone.

The Pixel 8 Pro did well in our review, achieving a rating of 89% from us. We liked a couple of aspects of this phone, and the camera setup is one of them. The last-gen Android flagship currently holds the 10th position on DxOMark's global smartphone camera ranking, and it also did great in our tests.

Next is the display, and while Google reduced the resolution compared to the predecessor, the Pixel 8 Pro's screen is significantly brighter. As it's an LTPO OLED, the panel can automatically set the refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, depending on what you're viewing.

Another big highlight of the Pixel 8 Pro is the build quality. The phone has a polished aluminum chassis with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which makes the phonedurable and look elegant at the same time. There is an IP68 dust and water resistance rating as well.

Other notable highlights are guaranteed software updates until October 2030, decent battery life, and a good speaker setup. As for the not-so-good parts of the Pixel 8 Pro, the SoC is the major weak point. The Tensor G3 couldn't even keep up with some of the last-gen flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9200+, and the performance gap with the latest top-end phones is even wider.

We also didn't like the fact that the Google Pixel 8 Pro had UFS 3.1 storage, while most of the last-gen flagships had faster UFS 4.0. You can learn more by reading our in-depth reviewor watching the video attached below.
