The Zepp OS team has spoken about an upcoming update for the Amazfit Active smartwatch. The model is already running on Zepp OS 4.0, which was released in July. In a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), the company shared highlights from the latest Zepp Flow 1.6.0 update, which is currently rolling out to the Amazfit Balance watch.
The posts shared details on features such as an updated keyboard, combining letters, numbers, symbols and emojis to make it easier to reply to notifications. Also included are voice typing and a new Notification Center, with enhanced syncing for Android users. Plus, iOS users will be able to reply to messages from various apps like WhatsApp from their smartwatch, using voice-to-text or the new keyboard.
In the comments on a couple of the posts, customers asked whether these new features would be coming to the Amazfit Active wearable. The Zepp OS team confirmed that users of this smartwatch could expect to receive a similar update with these tools, though it was three to four months away. So, Active users can expect to receive the latest software in December or January.
The Notification Center also has been upgraded and now supports syncing with the Android notification center to display all the graphic notifications.
