Garmin has rolled out Beta Version 18.14 to users of the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, Epix (Gen 2), Epix (Gen 2) Pro, MARQ and MARQ 2 smartwatches. The update brings an important change to the wearables compared to version 18.13.
That difference is the re-enabling of the ECG feature; the tool is usually disabled during beta testing. This suggests that we could be nearing the end of the 18.xx beta testing cycle, at which point Garmin would release a stable software version to all users. However, the company has not officially confirmed this. It is also worth noting that several users have flagged an issue with version 18.14 in the forum, suggesting that a bug in the update prevents the watches from recording sleep data.
In a post in the Beta Program section of the forum, a Garmin team member confirmed that the OTA update should have already been shared with all eligible users. If you have not received the release, you could try syncing with Garmin Express. It remains to be seen when a stable version of Garmin’s 18.xx software will roll out to all users of the Fenix 7 and related smartwatches.
