ASUS has introduced another entry in the Vivobook S 15, which it will showcase this week at IFA 2024 in Berlin. For context, ASUS refreshed the Vivobook S 15 twice this spring, first with a Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-78-100) chipset (curr. $989 on Amazon) and then with AMD Strix Point (Zen 5) APUs like the Ryzen AI 9 365. Now, it has unveiled Snapdragon X Plus versions of the laptop, which all come with the following hardware:
Additionally, ASUS has included a pair of USB 4 ports (40 Gbps), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) port, a 3.5 mm jack and a MicroSD card reader, all within a 352.6 x 226.9 x 14.7-15.9 mm housing that weighs 1.42 kg. Moreover, the Snapdragon X Plus versions of the Vivobook S 15 should be available with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage, plus 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM. However, it remains to be seen in what combinations these memory options will be available.
Furthermore, it seems that ASUS intends to offer the Vivobook S15 with X1P-42-100 and X1P-64-100 versions of the Snapdragon X Plus. For reference, Qualcomm distinguishes the X1P-42-100 and X1P-64-100 by equipping the former with 8 cores and the latter with 10 cores. Please see our analyses of both that we have linked in the preceding sentence. While it remains unclear when ASUS will release these new versions of the Vivobook S 15, it has outlined privately that the X1P-42-100 variant will start at approximately €999 in the Eurozone and $899 in the US.
