IFA 2024 | Nitro GS272U M debuts as Acer's latest take on the smart gaming monitor

The NitroGS272U M has joined theAcer CS322Qin being introduced as a smart monitor atIFA 2024- however, theformer has the more gamer-like stand of itsGA-seriespredecessors.

It also has a smaller 27-inch display - although the glare-free WQHD IPS panel is touted as the faster of the 2 at 180Hz. The GS272U M is rated to drive its top refresh rate over either DisplayPort1.2or USB-C, although its output should drop to 144Hz over its HDMI port, which is 2.0 rather than 2.1.

Then again, the GS272U M is also capable of powering other devices at up to 90W over its type-C port, and can cover up to 95% of the popular DCI-P3 color gamut. It has178° viewing angles, (horizontal or vertical), yet is still limited to 250 nits of brightness.

Nevertheless, theNitro GS272U M is pitched at gamers as the ideal monitor that might also double as a smart homehub. It is projected to start at €599 (~$662) on its release in the first quarter of 2025 (1Q2025).
