Realme 13 5G and Realme 13+ 5G launched in India

The Realme 13 family has gotten bigger with the launch of the Realme 13 5G and Realme 13+ 5G. The two new models join the Realme 13 Pro and Realme 13 Pro+ which launched in July. While both phones have a somewhat similar rear design to the pro models, Realme has gone for a flatter frame for the standard models.

The Realme 13 5G has a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Realme says it has six levels of dynamic refresh rate. It also has AOD and Realme's signature Rainwater Smart Touch which allows the screen to detect touch input even with wet fingers.

Powering the Realme 13 5G is MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. There's 10GB of Dynamic RAM, too. Despite the humongous camera island, the phone only has two sensors - a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. There's also a 16MP sensor in front for selfies and video calls.

Realme ships the phone with a 5,000mAh battery that charges at up to 45W and it comes bundled with a 45W adapter. There's no Wi-Fi 6 but it has Bluetooth 5.3, hybrid dual SIM support, and an audio jack. It also has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating and a 2249mm2 VC cooling area that can help reduce CPU temperature by up to 12oC.

The Realme 13 5G is available to pre-order in Speed Green and Dark Purple. The 128GB version is priced at₹17,999(~$215/€194) while the 256GB version is₹19,999 (~$238/€215).

Realme 13+ 5G

The Realme 13+ 5G has a smaller 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED screen with a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits. Realme also claims it is an ''Esports Display''. It is touting the phone as a gaming phone with features such as 90 fps gaming for 6 major games and certified lag-free gaming.

The Realme 13+ 5G is also powered by a MediaTek chipset - the Dimensity 7300 Energy - and is available in 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM configurations with 128GB or 256GB of storage. There's a microSD card slot for adding more storage too.

Unlike the non-plus model, this has three rear cameras. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with OIS. However, the specs of the other two cameras are missing on the product page.

The Realme 13+ 5G has a 5,000mAh battery capacity but charges significantly faster at 80W. It also has a much larger 6,050mm2 cooling area. There's Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, an audio jack, stereo speakers, and dual SIM support but no NFC. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner like the Realme 13 5G and a higher IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

The Realme 13+ 5G is available in Victory Gold, Speed Green, and Dark Purple. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB is priced at ₹22,999 (~$274/€247) while the 8+256GB version is ₹24,999(~$298/€269) and the 12+256GB version is ₹26,999 (~$322/€290).

There's no news yet of a European launch but the Realme 12 Pro 5G is still a very decent phone at its€225 price on Amazon.de.
