Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Leaker reports exciting hardware changes for next-generation flagship and Galaxy S24 Ultra successor

The release of the Galaxy S25 series is likely almost still half a year away. Nonetheless, Ice Universe continues to reveal details about Samsung's next flagships. For now at least, the leaker is focusing on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which will directly replace the current Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon).

For instance, roughly a week has passed since the leaker shared expectations regarding the width of not just the device's body, but also its display bezels. While the Ice Universe believes that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 0.7-inch larger display than its predecessor, this will increase the device's weight. In fact, the opposite is said to be true.

Supposedly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Although the weight of Apple's next flagship iPhone is not yet known, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is at least 11 g or 4.74% lighter than theGalaxy S24 Ultra. Thus, the weight reduction of Samsung's next 'Ultra' branded smartphone should be nearing 5% if not higher.

Not only that, but Ice Universe also asserts that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be thinner than both its competitors. If that is the case, then it would see the device coming in at less than 8.3 mm, a 0.3~0.4 mm shaving compared to theGalaxy S24 Ultra. Based on recent rumours, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will line up alongside the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus in January 2025.
