TCL launches new T5K 4K QLED TV with Dolby Vision

TCL has launched the T5K, a 50-inch QLED TV, in China. With Quantum Dot technology, the direct-lit LED TV covers 96% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and according to TCL, the color will not fade for 100,000 hours.

The T5K’s brightness level of 300-400 nits is said to be 25% higher than other models, though these are not named. The TCL TV also has MEMC motion smoothing technology and supports Dolby Vision. On top of this, there are two built-in 20W speakers from Onkyo that are compatible with Dolby Atmos. The model has an 8ms input lag with various ports like dual HDMI 2.1, USB-A 3.0, USB-A 2.0, AV, RJ45, RF antenna and an audio jack. Other features include voice commands, multiple screen-casting methods and 4+64 GB memory.

With a thin bezel, the TV has a 98% screen-to-body ratio and a 178 wide viewing angle°. You can now pre-order the TCL T5K for 2,099 yuan (~$295), and it will officially launch on August 31st. Whether TCL will bring this model to other markets like the US remains to be seen. In the meantime, you can purchase older 50-inch TVs from the brand, like the S5 UHD 4K LED Smart TV with Fire TV from the 2024 range.
