Decathlon Van Rysel E-EDR CF new lightweight carbon e-bike spotted

A new electric road bike from Decathlon is on the way: the Van Rysel E-EDR CF. The latest model, which was spotted in a catalogue earlier this year, has since appeared in product listings on the brand’s websites in several European countries, though it is currently out of stock online.

As its name indicates, the Van Rysel E-EDR CF has a carbon frame and fork. The bike is powered by a 55Nm Mahle X20 motor, which weighs just 1.4 kg (~3.1 lbs). These two components help to make the e-bike lightweight at 12 kg (~26 lbs); for comparison, the Van Rysel E-EDR AF with its aluminum frame weighs 14 kg (~31 lbs). A 350Wh battery allows you to ride with assistance for up to 150 km (~93 miles), and there is an optional 171Wh extender for an up to 200 km (~124 miles) range. The model also has a Shimano 105 Di2 2x12S electronic drivetrain, Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes, Hutchinson Fusion 5 Performance 700x28 tyres and Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity.

The Decathlon Van Rysel E-EDR CF electric road bike, available with a green or beige finish, is listed for £3,799.99 in the UK, €4,469.99 in the Netherlands, and €3,800 in France. It remains to be seen when the e-bike will be in stock online.
